Sounds like fun. If there's a silver 360 Challenge Stradale that shows up, i've probably driven that car. back when i lived up there, i managed a body shop that specialized in stuff like that. keep your eye out for Chuck Surack (from sweetwater sound) he'll surely bring something cool. I know of another guy (and his wife...she's bigger into cars than he is)...and they have an ferrari/alfa/fiat collection that numbers well into double digits. you'd never believe how many ferrari's are in the fort wayne area.

that's my dad's '69! the year after he drove his cabriolet. I drove my black turbo-look one year, and my 951 another year. and yes, we met...i remember you being parked next to the 360.

as for the one star...yeah, whoever did that, that's pretty crappy.

Cool, I remember you guys. Your Dad said the 912 was running rough after you bought it and when you went to check the spark plug connections one was not seated right. Problem fixed and off you went. Cool story.

I had 2 912's...enjoyed them both. Such a simple layout, everything easy to get to, etc. Also, with less weight in back, I felt the 912 might have a slightly better max G force ability than a 911.

Ahhhh, but the 911 power beckoned to me...

A fellow Porsche enthusiast, Greg from Ft Wayne sent me these yesterday. These are pics from 2010. I'll bring my camera for some current pics. Right now the forecast looks good 66 and no rain.

Its amazing. When one looks at all the cars lined up like that, one can really see how the models evolved over time. :P

Now that's some evolution we can all agree on.

Ferrari and Friends is a charity event to raise money for Kops-for-Kids. The Charity raises money and takes needy children on a Christmas shopping outing. These are kids who would not normally have much of a Merry Christmas.

I was also on the driver list. Yesterday I drove my cousins SC and four Ferrari's! I actually drove a 365 Ferrari Daytona. I will have perma grin for at least a week.

I drove the three cars in view here. The 308 and 365 I drove back to the owners shop last night around 10 pm several miles from the Sycamore Hills Country Club.

By far my favorite was the 365. The light switches are so strange on these older Ferraris. I had to have someone point out that you roll the left lever "Lights" forward to get the lights on, even then both the 365 and 308 dash lights would not come on for several minutes after the head lights were on and the car was running. [Edit I guess that is really how most modern cars are, twist lever to turn on, but it seemed strange on that lever.]

I was afraid of stalling these cars, but I amazed even myself and got them off the fairways without stalling or spinning the tires.

The 308 had a crazy inside door handle, it was hidden underneath the doors arm rest and the 365 had side windows, but I could not figure out how to lower them. That remains a mystery to me.

I liked driving the 308, but I definitely did not like stiffness of the clutch, or the crazy tight space the clutch, brake and gas peddles occupied. More than a couple of times I hit the brake before I could feel the gas peddle. My feet are only size 10-1/2!

That second to last pic is a GTO. I did not drive that one. It actually is not a true GTO, but the car was refitted with the GTO body panels at the factory.

My host gave me a long look of disdain for not knowing the GTO designations. Oops, my bad.

Here's the all electric Tesla. This car was reportedly owned by Leonardo DiCaprio. I believe it is now owned locally by SweetCars.

I also drove the 360, albeit only down the fairway for a reposition and park, the one next to the gray Ferrari. I could not figure out how to start this one, and someone told me to click the leather key fob attached to the key ring and then it would turn over. I was amazed at how much plastic is in the 360. The floors in this one had plastic floor mats made to look like steel sheets.
