"Paranoia" Green Day

I had visions, I was in them
I was looking into the mirror
To see a little bit clearer
The rottenness and evil in me

Fingertips have memories
And I can't forget the curves of your body
And when I feel a bit naughty
I run it up the flagpole and see
Who salutes, but no-one ever does

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And I'm so hot, cos I'm in hell

Been around the world and found that only stupid people are breeding
The cretins cloning and feeding

And I don't even own a TV

Put me in the hospital for nerves and then they had to commit me
You told them all I was crazy
They cut off my legs, now I'm an amputee
God damn you

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And I'm so hot, cos I'm in hell

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And it's a sin, to look so well

I want to publish scenes
And rage against machines
I wanna pierce my tongue, it doesn't hurt it feels fine
But you don't look so fine
I'd like to turn off time
To kill my mind
To kill my mind

Paranoia, paranoia
Everybody's coming to get me
Just say you never met me
I'm running underground with the moles
Digging in holes

Hear the voices in my head, I swear to god it sounds like they're snoring
But if you're bored, then you're boring
The agony and the irony, they're killing me

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And I'm so hot, cos I'm in hell

I'm not sick, but I'm not well
And it's a sin, to look this well

I looked into this once, and came away thinking the increased rate of peanut allergy was actually due to overuse of peanut oil in personal care products. I cannot recall what data that was based on, so take it with a shovelful of salt.

Yes.

The weak are now coddled and protected and permitted to survive where nature would have removed them from the gene pool in an earlier era.

The intelligent are too busy working and supporting society to procreate in large numbers leaving the slack-jawed welfare recipients and the generally lazy with lots of free time to have large families.

First World nations have declining birth rates thanks to birth control and forward-thinking while the Third World have only pregnancy as their sole means of not getting pregnant. "19 Kids and Counting" notwithstanding...

I'd settle for not seeing so many 'breeding sows' when I do venture into certain public places. I know my parents "planned" how many kids to have based on a number of factors - including economics. I don't know what else to say....our society is doomed....

Our society is doomed in many ways, not just because we are being overrun by the mouth-breathers.

The North American way of life is unsustainable in its current form, something's got to give.

exc911ence 10-18-2012 04:57 PM

We need less laws, and more common sense.

The nanny state is helping us down the road to Idiocracy at an alarming rate.

RWebb 10-18-2012 04:58 PM

what is really stupid is how few people understand natural selection

for proof, see the posts above

Explain. Are you suggesting that modern society has not altered human natural selection in a way that allows people of lesser intelligence/talent to thrive?

sc_rufctr 10-18-2012 05:32 PM

95% of the general population are stupid. It's always been like that.

My German uncle (94) is a veteran of WW2... He recently told me that most of the fighting during the war was done by 5% of the soldiers. That same 5% generally made it home after the war. The other 95% who cowered in fear and didn't return fire lay on the battlefield mortally wounded or dead from what he descibed as stupid reasons. Things like running out of ammo because they had no discipline. Or their rifle jamming because they didn't clean it that morning. Or they died of disease because they didn't look after their personal hygiene.

So Uncle made it home and got married to a beautiful German girl then immigrated to Australia. Had four kids and then 12 grand kids... A great family for sure.

He is truly one of the most successful people I've ever met and I proud that he's my uncle.

The basis of idiocracy. Rent the movie. If you just laugh and say "That was funny." you're one of them.

already explained in post # 16

you also need to ask what is the heritability of IQ (or whatever metric you want to use)

This is what the Progressives were talking about with Eugenics. In the US, Planned Parenthood was started to reduce the population of the less desirables.

Is this really what you want?

I disagree. Look at the explosive population growth in Africa and South America. There are simply way, way more calories available to humans, successful drugs to fight endemic disease, and virtually zero population control.

porsche4life 10-18-2012 07:48 PM

I don't think its that population is really that much dumber, its just that its so much easier for idiots to broadcast their idiocy....

Take a large majority of this board for instance....

I used to think that the "stupid" people were just not very learnt. However, after starting my own business and dealing with people that have just a high school education - I changed my mind.

There are more and more stupid people in the world. It seems that the education system is failing - or - they just don't care. It is how these people are brought up. Underachievers. We have a group of Bart Simpsons in the world and its getting larger. Its easier to be a rap star, then learn. Look at a lot of the movies out - especially comedies. Stupid, dump, moronic jokes and gags that only the under-intelligent group laughs at.

I don't get it and I am tired of it - especially when it affects my business. We also have the "I am owed something" generation. Which is another topic.

It's much more than the education system failing. There's more to life than book-learnin'.
Most high-school kids I grew up with were much more self-sufficient than what I see now. Kids in their early 20's can't seem to figure out how to prioritize their life.

BeyGon 10-18-2012 08:18 PM

I think it started with FDR.

I've worked for educated IDIOTS!

One gentleman in paticular comes to mind. Garner Robinson! Hey Gardner, If your reading this HA!

So, I worked for Camelback for a few years. All of the managemnt came from the same Ivy Leaque Fraternity! I $H!t you not.

So Garnder is out traveling with me one day to see customers. He sticks his foot in his mouth twice in front of a customer that was pretty pissed a Gardner didn't have a clue that he insulted my customer. The next shop we went to they had done inventory the day prior and all of the slatwall hooks had 1/8" red stickers on the ends so that they knew that the product had been counted. Gardner asked me "So why are there red stickers on all of the hooks?" I informed him that they could be for one of two reasons. That they just did inventory or it was to prevent careless people from bending down and stickiny a slatwall hook in their eye!

So, off to the next store... and Gardner sees a bright shiny object on a slatwall hook. He bends down and would you belive it? He misses his glasses by a 1/4" and sticks a damn slatwall hook in his eye. I had to walk away!

There's plenty more but I'll just leave it at that.
