Rear-View Cameras

I see them advertised in certain, newer vehicles (OEM). I would love to put one on the back of my Silverado pickup. What a great aid that would be when hooking up the boat or car-hauler trailer(s).

I haven't even started to look in the aftermarket. Thought I would ask here first.

Anyone here installed one - or maybe recommend a particular one? I assume I could mount it in the rear bumper and I want as small and unobtrusive a screen in the cab as possible.

TIA.

I have this on my F250 for backing up

Peak Wireless backup camera

Though I find the "two stick" method best for getting the trailer on the ball

Check EBay, there are a multitude of pickup solutions that mount a camera in the rear badge and the screen in the rear view mirror. It's the exact same implementation as my 2012 F150 OEM camera. It's an awesome tool for hooking up a trailer, and makes backing the beast safer as well.

I can't help with your specific search for one, but can tell you to do it when you find it. I've got the factory system in the F150 that is a fisheye lens under the Ford logo on the tailgate, aimed right at the hitch ball. I can get within an inch or so when backing the ball under the coupler on the boat trailer, every time. Absolutely genius setup.

I'm operating a Cat track-hoe with one mounted on the back. I really like it.
