Stickley Bros Quaint furniture - who knows about this?

All,
I am currently looking for a desk for my wife's home office. I would rather have an older, well-constructed desk than a newly constructed one. In looking at Craigslist, I came across a 'Stickley Bros Quaint desk'. It looks great (at least from the pictures) and is constructed from quarter-sawn oak. The desk dimensions are 47" long, 29" deep, and 30" tall. My question is does anyone here have any knowledge/experience with the old Stickley Bros Quaint furniture line? What things should I look for / look out for with this type of furniture? Is $500 a reasonable asking price for this desk?

Stickley Bros. Quaint Furniture Desk

If its a real Stickley, yes. Look for a tag or mark somewhere on the desk.

It's not a Gustav Stickley (N.Y.) and refinished, but for $500 you can't go wrong. It's CL so you can always lowball, but I'd still pay 5 bills for it.

That appears to be the real deal. Stickley is very high grade furniture, and has never been cheap (check out one of their showrooms). Good design. I think $500 is a good price.

The desk has the TM of the Stickley Bros. shown in the CL ad....

Gustav Stickley used the red joiners compass as his mark....

Gutav was the most famous of the brothers, his furniture is the most valuable.

I have done quite a bit of investigation over the last week regarding the Stickley Bros Quaint line. Prices seem to be all over the place... For research reasons, I dismissed the 'Stickley'-part from the equation and looked just at desks constructed of quarter-sawn materials. That characteristic alone seems to demand a very premium price. The more I look at this, the more I like it - so, providing that is still available, it looks like I may purchase this desk as a present for my wonderful wife!

Update: we contacted the sellers yesterday and made arrangements to view the desk this afternoon. After just returning from our four hour round trip, we are still 'desk-less'. This desk was in poor condition and it is doubtful that it could have even been loaded into the back of my truck without coming apart. I had expected to see a sturdy, well-constructed desk for an asking price of $500. Much originality was missing from the desk while little was holding it together. At one time in its earlier life, this was a very fine desk but that time has since passed.

I will now be searching for another desk with quarter-sawn / tiger oak construction that is in or close to its original condition.
