Very close play at the plate early in the game.

So if the Giants win the series do they get an * next to their name for having a cheater on the team?

Hydrocket 10-25-2012 06:44 PM

Tigers manager blew it. What was he thinking bringing a rookie into the game with so much on the line? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Leyland has stupid stuff like this all year long.

Tigers deserve to lose this one.

Who are you referring to?

Caberra, 50 game suspension for illegal substance. He would have won the batting title scored 82 or so runs in only 113 games. WAS their only offense early on.

Hydrocket 10-25-2012 07:16 PM

This series is OVER.

Congrats SF!

The only bright side for us Tigers fans is hopefully Leyland won't be back next year....

illegal substance

Are you suggesting there is only one guy in MLB using drugs?

KT

quicksix 10-25-2012 07:31 PM

The Giants won the division after Melky was suspended, and chose to not bring him back.
He is on the 40 man roster and will never play another game in a Giants uni.
This series is far from over, the Tigers have way too much fight in them to roll over at home.
Jim Leyland is a great manager, who has won more NATIONAL league games than american league games.

At the end of the game ,Fox flashed on the Tigers dugout.
A pissed off team
This is where character and chemistry come into play.
Go Giants

No.

So by your reckoning, that makes it OK for Melky to cheat? Because there may be others doing it?

San Fran has a history of juiced players it seems.

I'm stating facts. Caberra tested positive for PED's. Caberra plays for the Giants. No suggestions made trekkor just facts.

People in Detroit think he's terrible. The game has passed him by. He makes too many bone-headed decisions (like tonight) and is way too loyal to his "favorite" group of players even when they are sucking. Unless you've watched all season, you really have no idea how frustrating it's been with him as manager. He never has a sense of urgency, either. And BTW..Leyland is a quitter. He quit after a bad year with the Marlins, then did it again with the Rockies.

And while the Tigers are good, there is no way they are going to win 4 out of the 5 next games. I mean..their bats are in a coma. Tonight was an opportunity to get back in the series against Bumgarner who's been an absolute turd in the playoffs (6.0 ERA). And they couldn't do it. In 11 playoff games this year, Detroit has scored 3 runs or less in 7 of them! Of those 7, they were shut out twice. They made Bumgarner look like a Cy Young candidate. Sorry..this series is over. Have already sold my tickets for games 4-6.

Buckterrier 10-25-2012 07:50 PM

The impact was prior to. But a major impact.
Anyway, does look like the Giants are on a run. The Tigers need to do some soul searching. I like Leyland. He would have taken the Pirates to the series if Barry Bonds could have thrown out a slow white guy with a bad knee :(

There were 4 suspensions this year. 2 of them were Giants. Didn't the biggest juicer/cheater of all time also play for the Giants? (Bonds)

Just saying...:D

trekkor 10-25-2012 08:04 PM

I was listening to an interview earlier in the year regarding cheating and testing.
The gist was with the current rules and testing, it's very difficult to get caught.

I believe the one being interviewed was Victor Conte, himself.

The amount of drugs they allow in a players system is well above any kind of normal found in the public.

It's when you go above Baseball's limit is when you get busted.

Anyway, start a thread on this if you wish.

How many at bats did Jim Leyland take tonight?
How many at bats did Barry(thebiggestjuicerever)Bonds take tonight?
