The new iMac looks very impressive. Wish I was in the market for one, LOL.

I'm sure they'll sell billions of the new iPad Mini. Beautiful little device. Just mind boggling that they've sold 100 million iPads already.

I kind of miss the old bombshell days of announcements. I guess those days are gone, now that they are so large and the supply chain is so massive.

All in all, very beautiful new products.

Yeah, my iMac just keeps on going... damn I like that new 1....

Apple today introduced an all-new version of its popular 13-inch MacBook Pro featuring a stunning Retina display and all flash storage in a new compact design. At a mere 0.75 inches and 3.57 pounds, the remarkably portable 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display is 20 percent thinner and almost a pound lighter than the current 13-inch MacBook Pro.
“The 13-inch MacBook Pro is our most popular Mac, and today it gets completely reinvented with a new thin and light design, fast flash storage and a gorgeous Retina display,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, in the press release. “With vivid colors, razor sharp text and more pixels than anyone else’s 15 or 17-inch notebooks, the Retina display completely changes what you expect from a notebook.”

The new MacBook Pro packs more than 4 million pixels into its 13-inch Retina display, nearly twice the number of pixels in an HD television. At 227 pixels per inch, the Retina display’s pixel density is so high the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels at a normal viewing distance, so images look sharp and text looks like it does on the printed page. With four times the pixels of the current 13-inch MacBook Pro, you can view and edit video in pixel-accurate 1080p and see a new level of detail in high resolution images. The 13-inch Retina display uses IPS technology for a 178-degree wide viewing angle, and has 75 percent less reflection and 28 percent higher contrast than the current generation.

Featuring flash storage that is up to four times faster than traditional notebook hard drives, the all-new MacBook Pro is extremely responsive, whether it’s waking from sleep or launching your favorite apps.* Fast flash storage combined with the latest Intel dual-core processors gives the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display plenty of power to run your most demanding apps with ease.

Apple’s 15-inch and 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display features 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processors with the option to choose faster 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 processors, Intel HD Graphics 4000, 8GB of 1600 MHz memory, and up to 768GB of flash storage. Two Thunderbolt and two USB 3.0 ports allow users to connect to multiple displays and high-performance devices, and a new HDMI port offers quick connectivity to an HDTV. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display also features a FaceTime®HD camera, dual microphones, improved speakers, three-stream 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a MagSafe 2 power port.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro battery delivers up to 7 hours of wireless productivity and can remain in standby for up to 30 days.** With the all new Power Nap feature in OS X Mountain Lion, your MacBook Pro with Retina display stays up to date while it sleeps. Power Nap automatically refreshes Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, and Photo Stream, and when the notebook is plugged in, downloads software updates and backs up your Mac using Time Machine.

Executives took the stage to introduce the iPad mini, a tablet with a 7.9-inch screen that weights half as much as the larger iPad, which it resembles. The iPad mini has two cameras, a dual-core A5 processor and 10-hour battery life. It comes in both Wi-Fi only versions and models with LTE wireless connectivity.

Apple said pricing for the iPad mini would start at $329 for a version with 16GB of memory and Wi-Fi only wireless, which would price it above some rival tablets of similar size. It will be available starting Nov. 2.

All this stuff looks very nice. I have a lot of apple stuff around the house and none of it has failed me. There is no way I can ever go back.

Very exciting.

The fusion drive is interesting. I haven't had a desktop at home in a couple of years but bringing my laptop into my studio to record is kind of a pita. May be time to break down at get an iMac so it is always wired up. For years I had Mac towers for my home studio, but a 27" iMac would cover that. And then the iPad works as a wireless mixer. Crazy times...

I watched it today and came away with a couple thoughts, thank goodness I didn't just by a "new" ipad, and I think the mini is to high priced, i think they needed to come in st $199 to start.

It will be interested to see what the Surface does

"The popularity of the brand, the iOS ecosystem and now a more affordable price will make the iPad mini a hot product this Christmas season. Despite a higher price and strong competition from the Google's Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire, Apple continues to deliver the best in class integration between software and hardware, delighting users with a rich content experience.

"When Apple launched the first iPad, consumers didn't know what to do with it, but they knew they loved and wanted it. Now Apple launches a product for those who always knew what to do with a tablet, but couldn't afford it."

We all know tech moves fast but they certainly hosed the buyers of the retina iPad who lined up only 6 months ago. Too bad, you lose. Your's isn't the 'faster, neater, better one' anymore . . .

On pricing, I am sure that they had hours & hours of strategic meetings to set the price. Apple buyers will pay a premium, but at $329, it is certainly at the top of its pricing class & moving out of the impulse sale arena. $299 would have been much better - the extra $30 ain't much but physiologically it is significant. We shall see how the masses react.

Obviously, I just don't get the whole Apple tablet thing. Why are people paying $700 for an Apple tablet, or now $329 for an Apple mini tablet? What are they doing with these tablets? Surfing the Internet? That is all my girlfriend uses her iPad for....

A sucker is born every minute and a fool and his money were lucky to get together in the first place. Apple products have become status symbols which is funny as everyone has them. Note: I have an iPhone4 which I use extensively (music, latest apps) so I am aware of the capabilities and limitations of Apple products.

Yes, I admit that they do take pretty pictures of their computers and tablets.

Why do people feel the need to criticize the buying habits of someone they don't even know.

If you don't like the apple product don't buy it, other wise. Well just lay low.
