What do you guys use?
I need emails sent out ( w/o a lot of fuss) to a list of about 1500 customers. ... some addresses have been entered wrong causing blocks of emails (Outlook) to be bounced. (no delivery) ![]()

Constant Contact is good. We use Eloqua at my company and it works great. You never want to use your regular domain as the source as it might get you blocked or blacklisted for spam/mass mailing. Most e-mail providers expressly prohibit mass-mail for that reason.

Constant Contact = constant annoyance.
Yes, you don't want the recipients of spam/mass mailing to know where it's coming from, they might be able to protect themselves from it.

1500 doesn't seem like a lot to me. These addresses are from customers who physically wrote out their email address in hopes of getting business updates. (maybe twice a year.) --I would expect spammers to be sending out 10's of thousands every hour.
One of my bigger concerns is sorting out the dead addresses. Is there any software for that? I'm also a bit leery of using 'free' services, as I don't' want my list to be a source of addresses for spammers.

I use constant contact and can't say I really like it, they are constantly (no pun intended) changing the interface and that is annoying. I keep it because its fairly cheap and I know how to use it for my needs, anything more is too confusing and expensive so they really are terrible at showcasing new features

I've used Vertical Response and in general am very happy with it. I like that it is pay by use and not a flat monthly fee. The interface and mail designer is much easier (and also more powerful) than constant contact. My wife's work uses constant contact and trying to make custom HTML was hard.
For very infrequent use you should look at MailChimp. Stupid name, but it's really simple.

Open Source. 10 minute set up. Does everything you need. No spamming of your list. SPAMCANN compliant. 1500 emails 2x's year is manageable with any ISP. They likely won't notice but you can tell them what you are doing and give them the link to your signup so they can see you are using double opt in and all should be fine.

I've used Mailchimp amd Constant Contact in the past. I preferred Mailchimp. Lots of features, easy to use, and free for up to 2000 subscribers, and 12,000 emails per month.

Mailchimp has less features than constant contact and hence, is simpler. For that qty i think its free.
