So last year me and the family go to a benefit fish fry for the local volunteer fire dept. While there, my sister purchases me a couple raffle tickets for a custom truck that the local Masonic lodge is raffling for the local college scholarship fund. We get our tickets and go inside to eat our fish dinner and my youngest daughter told me that she really liked that truck. I told her that if I won it, that I would give it to her...

Well fast forward to tonight... I get a call saying that I won the truck! On the way to pick it up I told both my daughters that the lesson that they are to learn from this is not that you sometimes win in life, but that their dad keeps his word...

My daughter is now the proud owner of a 1979 Dodge Warlock.... Frame off restoration with a fresh .30 over 440 with a 727 tranny... shaved door handles and custom wood (maple) bed. I will post pics of it tomorrow as it is too late to try and take them tonight.

My daughter handed me keys to the 944 that I recently gave her before we even left the house... silly kids...

Must be the year for Pelicans winning cars. We were at a car show this summer and they were selling tickets for a Saab 9000S. I told our son Ryan that if I won the car, he could have it.

Well... $20 later Ryan was the proud owner of "20 buck chuck" - and the Saab came home with us.

As Rick said, they are thirsty. My last big block dodge was averaging about 10mpg. The good news is that they are awesome even when parked. Now, go buy her some Lynyrd Skynyrd tapes!

So what kind of tax bill does this prize bring with it?

It had a body off restoration with epoxy primer and paint. Has three layers of clear coat I believe. They used maple for the bed and side rails instead of the factory oak.
