fix painted surface flaws
I made a buddy a simple diddley bow. Kind of a gag, as we jam together and he is an amazing guitar player. Anyway I screwed up and got finger prints in the tacky paint. My fix was to fade in another coat over the prints. The prints are gone but you can really see the fix. Can you wet sand a spray can finish or use a rubbing compound to blend in and fix

What is the paint? Enamel? Acrylic?
I'd let it dry fully, then hit it with a fine rubbing compound. This will probably give you a better overall finish anyway. |
The can doesn't say if its enamel or not! Just some generic all purpose red in a can!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1352345228.jpg

That can be sanded and polished. Use 2000 grit on a hard block then polish with compound either by hand or a buffer if you have access to one.
