RIP Scout
We put our older mini schnauzer down today, well my wife did, I was out of town but home now. We picked her out together after getting our first house, she saw 2 kids come home, hung out with me when I was sick, and made the move to VA. I'll miss that furball.

So sorry Brian. It's never easy. There are a lot of doggie lovers on this forum. I know most have felt your sorrow. I have.

The death of a loved pet is losing a member of the family...yeah, it hurts! My sympathy.

Brian, Having just gone through this myself very recently, I feel for you! It is no surprise to me that your dog had weaved it's way into your life and now you feel a hole there.
Hang in there. Your dog may be gone but I know it is not forgotten. My Snappie girl is probably greeting your dog on the other side of the rainbow bridge about now.

Sorry to hear this Brian.
My labs, Woody, Cooper and Spencer will show her the ropes on that side of the bridge.

Sorry for you and your family's loss Brian. Scout was a great companion and I'm glad he is remembered with such fondness and respect. I will hug my 2 girls extra tight this morning before I leave for work, in honour of Scout. Respectfully, Baz & the girls

There's something special about the dog that was part of raising your young children. We lost Abby (golden retriever) at age 16...about three years ago. Still miss her every day. Very sorry for your loss.

Thanks everyone. Gnocchi (my daughter named the other dog, don't ask) will be getting extra spoiled this week though she's pretty mopey today. My wife's taking it pretty hard, was her 1st dog, but it'll get easier.

Brian,
Sorry for you loss. I love wolfhounds and have had several and now one. Short life span and many days think of staying home just because of the inevitable loss coming. Still tears me up thinking of the dogs I have lost to father time. (not just wolfies...) My best to you. |

They are part of our family and we love them so much it breaks our heart to see them have to go. They are missed so terribly, that wagging tail that was always happy to see you will never be seen again. Goodbye my good and loyal friend I will never forget you, and I will love you forever..

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately I can relate. We had to put one of our dogs down this past Thursday. It was sad. She was a great dog, and lived a long life, and most certainly did not deserve to suffer any longer. We still miss her though.

Condolences on your loss. By what you posted it sounds like everyone (Scout and human) enjoyed the ride.
