Hey Paull!
Go Ducks! Larry (just slightly North of you) |
The only reason any team that is outside of the SEC gets a high ranking, is because they dont play anyone in the SEC.
|
This might be a good time to review the cheerleading specifications of teams under discussion....I'll lead off with the Ducks:

Baz, I think USC would likely win in that department.;)
|
biggest problem is there isn't enough cross conference play to determine strength of conference. SEC has always been labeled the power conference, and the PAC 12 is always an ESPN favorite. The Big 12 gets no respect, but we are a scrappy bunch that can get things done from time to time, 2005 anyone?? If Texas can get past TCU with a win I think they will give K St. a run for their money, but that being said, I will root for K St. if they run the table and make it to the championship! Go Big 12!!!
|
I would definitely say that an Alabama v Oklahoma State national championship game would have been much better than last year's snoozer.

Well that was short lived.
At least KSU conclusively ended any disputes tonight re whether they deserve to be in the Nat Champ game. That was an embarrasing beatdown put on them by a bad team with a losing record. A good team might put 100 on them. |
Embarrassing, I totally agree. Off of their game in every way. Best of luck to Oregon and Notre Dame, I'd like to see a non-SEC title game.
|
Oregon may not make it either.
In OT with Stanford right now. |
Here's what the next BCS rankings will look like folks....
1. N.D. 2. Alabama 3. U.G.A. 4. U.F. I knew there would be upsets before the season ended. There always are! Sorry for your loss Matt. |

They proved it tonight. |
First time in history an AP #1 team has lost to an unranked team (team outside the top 25).
So, in addition to getting pounded scorewise, it was a loss of historic proportions. No team with a losing record this late in the season can be considered a good team. The record speaks for itself. (But, I'd agree, Baylor is a lot "better" now after taking down #1! If Baylor were to adopt USC style logic, they'd argue they are now #1!) |
Baylor was better than their record shows, their offense leads the nation in many statistical categories. Their defense was last in the nation in most categories, but they showed up big tonight. More so however, was that KSU didn't, and ultimately the spotlight was too bright for them. Even Snyder acknowledged as much in his post game comments, saying that they did not deal well with the environment of the last week. But such is life, you have to deal with the pressure if you want to be #1, and KSU demonstrated that they couldn't. Hopefully they can refocus and beat Texas in two weeks to earn a Fiesta Bowl spot.
|
As an ex Jayhawk who grew up in Lawrence as I kid then went to KU like most of my immediate family no love lost for K-State. With all of TT'sbacks healthy since the beginning of the season a good dose of smash isinorder. If David Ash can just not screw up it will be a good game. Oh and the tackling Longhorns not the chumps as they showed against OU.
|
SC may be able to pull it together and dump Notre Dame......ya heard it here first.

Well I was praying for a national championship game without the SEC, but baylor and stanford wouldn't have it :( Guess I'll just stick to hoping the Longhorns can win out!! Hook'em \m/
