I played around with old Alfa Romes and Fiats in my teens and early twenties. But I always had a VW Beatle around as a daily. It's an affliction.

As much as I love my old Porsche, I have been into my Jeep since I bought it new in early 1997.

Anybody with a yard should really consider one of these.
Set up a course around the house and have solo events.
Whoever wins gets a beer.
Whoever loses has to drink a beer.
Lather, rinse, repeat!!

that would be an arnolt bristol. A gorgeous car, and very desireable. In 1961 still using a variation of the mid to late 30's bmw 327/328 engine, and still quite competitive.

Jokes aside, like most of yours, my car interests are broad. Nowadays I seem to lean more towards interest in cars from my teenage years - the 1980s.

BMW E28 M5, Renault R5 Turbo, Ruf Yellowbird, Ferrari 288GTO, European sports stuff.

And sports motorcycles :D

had a Datsun 240Z for 20 years before I sold it to buy my 911. Have not regretted that decision for one second

Cheers

d.

Motorcycles.

My 911 is an old, dear friend but when I'm looking for a rush, it's my motorcycles that I turn to. http://www.cristoferdelatorre.com/em...o-victoria.gif

Lots of older American cars... muscle or classic. Funny noises & funny smells, man!

I learned to wrench on 911s, and started to feel like a one trick pony. So this past year I have branched out into 928s and E39 BMWs. They are both a pleasure to work on.

I had a 68 Dodge Dart GTS that I should have kept from my youth. That would have made my fantasy drag car fully tubbed and lowered with a fire breathing Hemi, but alas, I sold it in favor of a 78 Datsun 280Z and was into those Zs for the next 25 years until I sold my sweet 71 240 a few years back for family financial purposes.

I finally started looking for another Z and couldn't find anything that wasn't totally falling in half with rust and neglect for under $5000. Then I discovered Porsche 944s and just picked up my second one that is in great shape physically and mechanically.

I have always loved 911s, and I assume that I will have one when the kids are out of the house and the house is paid off (5-6 years), but am happy commuting in my 944 for now.

In my area, no one drives anything but pickup trucks, and boring commuter cars except for the occasional car show here they pull out thier 100 mile a year Camaro or Chevells so a Porsche is a big deal and I get alot of looks and comments.
