My Pekingese got attacked by 2 Pits this afternoon My parents were out for their daily walk with my Pekingese and two Pits got loose, chased them down half a block and started attacking my dog. My dad is a stroke survivor so he can't really protect the dog since he has a tough time walking as it is. My mom was knocked down on the ground. My Peke has big bite marks by her ribs. It didn't break the skin, but the she is hurt. I'm told the 2 Pits kept trying to bite until the neighbors pulled them away. My neighbors were pissed. The Pit owner (young guy) says the dogs are going to be gone by tonight. He paid for my dog's vet visit. My dog got lucky they didn't get her neck although the two Pits were trying to... I am PISSED at a-holes who get Pits just for the image. |

sorry about your dog, nobody like to see something they love get hurt. But it could of been a german shepard, a doberman, or husky or anything else. No need to really state Dog Breed X was attacked by Breed Y. so you had a dog fight. Sound like a VERY cool dog owner that even paid for your Vet Bill. I see your location is Florida, so simply by stereotype, you're old tan wrinkled, retired, wear polyester pants with waist band above your navel and drive poorly? |

The younger Pit has tried to attack other neighborhood dogs as well as people. The older Pit is nice from my experience, but pack mentality seems to have taken over. All of the neighbors has had a bad experience with the younger Pit...I know the guy's mom and family. They used to have a Shih Tzu. The guy replaced it with a Pit puppy and hasn't really taken the time to train her. I don't stereotype against Pits. It's the owners who don't train them...Re-read what I wrote. |

I see PLENTY of rednecks who have Pit Bulls who are NOT fixed having litter after litter and these are white trash - they have the pits to make a statement. They are so stupid they don't bother to get them fixed. How is that for stereo-typing? It is what it is......dumb-azz white trash. |

Have we gone so PC that now we can say something bad about a pos dog? Get real. |
|
In our part of the world dogs should be on a leash. Any dog that is not on a leash that harasses me I phone the city and they give a warning to the owner. Pitbulls seems to instill more fear but most dogs can bite if they are not restrained and not trained.... |

Do you guys in Floriday have too much cocaine from Cuba/Mexico/Belize/Honduras in your water, 3 posters so far, all from Floriday? all against mr bad dog..........it was a dog fight, get over it. or wear more un-buttoned silk shirts with gold chains if that's your thing..........maybe too many episodes of Miami Vice.......... |

poor little dog. dogs get bummed when they get beaten up. |
|
Dave it was a 60-70 lbs dog attacking a 6-8 lbs dog that's not a dog fight. My Shepherd tried to play with my Maltipoo with no malice and hurt her. AFC-911 I am glad your dog got out of that with her life. And I think that owner was very cool I wish that the guy who shot my dog was like that. |

Neighbors driving by say they saw the two pits making a bee line to my dog in their rear view mirror. I'm told they were not going to let up if they weren't pulled away. GSmith, the pit owner was very apologetic. A lot of my neighbors were really pissed at him and were yelling at him to get rid of his dog (which I think they did right after they left the vet). He was more shook up than my parents were... He admitted that I shouldn't have to worry about having another attack while we're out on a stroll. I will stop by to thank him and give him an update on my dog. His family are nice people, but they have a habit of having their dogs loose unattended. I've gone home from work to find their Shih Tzu (Sasha) and the old Pit (Capone) wandering the roads by themselves. It's their new young Pit (Daisy) that is very aggressive and untrained. She is a real ***** apparently... And yes, I realize it could be any dog. But then again, we haven't had black labs and goldens attack her when they get loose. In fact, my dog usually brings them home with me. |

Kudos to the owner in manning up and taking responsibility. I have been there done that. I decided enough was enough and traded my GSD in for a Maltipoo. LOL. |
|
Glad your parents are ok. Probably just as traumatic for them...maybe more. |
|
I feel for you, your pooch and your parents. True..any dog/breed could do that but some breeds are way more aggressive. I used to see this kinda crap all the time when I was in practice and it involved Pits a huge percentage of the time.. Pits=American Staffordshire Terrier but many perps are cross breed of them. Yes ... Kudos to that guy for doing the right thing...be sure to acknowledge him for that..once the dust settles. |

Lily is healing nicely. That said, she is really paranoid and is constantly looking behind her back. I can't wait until she's back to her happy self again. https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...28098243_n.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...87305727_n.jpg It definitely could have been much worse. It looks like she was able to turn and Daisy missed her neck. She was also lucky Capone was too old to get to her quickly. |
|
Nice... I bet she's sore from the ordeal. You can give her a baby aspirin if you want...with food and preferably enteric coated. one/day only... |

Good thing your parents weren't walking a little girl. Dog needs to be put down. After a certain age, they will not be trainable. Yeah, yeah, it is never the dogs fault. I don't care. After the dog shows it will attack, it needs to be put down. Next time it might not be so pretty. |

People that try to deny that certain animals have instinctive tenancies show ignorance that defies description. |
|
I am constantly dumbfounded that pits are allowed in public without muzzles. This just defies believability. Sorry for your little dog. |
|
Ultimately it's the STUPID human's fault. Dog is just being him/herself. The white trash humans should be put down as well..... |

AFC-911, I'm glad your dog is going to be okay. I have to agree with others above that the pit owner did do the right thing by paying for the vet bill. He should keep his dog on a leash though. Especially since it sounds like the dog has a previous history! I am a pit owner. I'm also a very responsible pit owner! No cropped ears. No tail removal. Just a well loved pit that loves other dogs, cats and people. We are going to keep it that way too. Give your little bundle some loves from us and get well soon. |
