too much work? ..too much $$? honda CT-70!

i want one. why? dunno. maybe a pit-bike or something. this one looks complete, but the lack of paperwork would give me fits at the DMV if i wanted to make it street legit.

probably a better candidate for parts only. what do you honda trail experts think?

Too much $$$ given the condition.

We have one that was around $800 several years ago, but it is very nice. My buddy picked up a decent looking, decent running CT70 for $350. That is a low price, but they are out there.

I was looking for a CT70 last year. Got an XL70 instead. Love it. Perfect pit bike. Shares many/most the same mechanicals with the CT70.

FWIW someone GAVE me a CT-70 without papers back in the day... free... gratis...

Just sayin,

If I were you and just want a fun putt-putt I would pick up a new/slightly used beginners (90-125cc) dirt bike.

Not as cool as a CT-70 but light years ahead on suspension.

Missing some parts and chrome looks bad? I would pass on that one although I doubt you will find one much cheaper nowdays. FWIW, I hated my CT70 as a kid.... my friends had two stroke mx bikes.... I beat the living bejesus out of mine to keep up with them in the trails. I know other folks who enjoyed them, but they surely did not ride them like I did.

I like the Mini trail 50's much more for a little pit bike.

I sold our '72 recently for $500. Fun little learner bike, but not good for much else.

These dang things are such cult-y little bikes, same as the Mini Trail, nostalgia trumping common sense. Sort of like Taco mini bikes and early VW buses, people like to try to relive their pasts a little bit...

(Having said that, if I find one in good shape cheep, a real one, from the '70's, I'll probably buy it to flip it)

(The idea of buying a clean little XL is a good one!)

I answered a CL add, and my wife and I went to look at it and it was her cousin who had it for sale. We knew the house because we were just there 2 weeks before for Christmas. We were shocked when we realized it was her cousin who listed it. He wanted $600 for a 69 red ct70. I had it running in 30 minutes and use it as a runaround at my airport. Funny thing my wife remembers riding it 25 years before I ever got to ride it. Some ct70's are CRAZY prices on E bay. I love it.

Wait until you find a great one with a title. They're everywhere.

I want to get one just to go to my local biker tavern. They barely tolerate Ol' thumpy, so I just wanna do it for fun.
