You can pretend to do all sorts of things on TV, dosen't mean it's real. They have to be caught with the goods.

My question is...........if their doing an illegal act on TV then why can't the revenuers catch them? Hell, they know what they look like! Should'nt be that hard.

............ then what would we do for seasons 2, 3, and 4?

I know of several people that, from time to time make their own industrial cleaner that happens to be edible-
one, now 20 years deceased, had his stored in a oak cask for thirty years. when he passed the family found he hadn't cleaned allot with it and it was half full- it was a fabulous Bourbon color as i remember-

Well, I have had good shine & bad shine, like a good scotch, it is an acquired taste, and it is very hard to beat a good TN sippen shine.

On my Mother's side, the family comes from TN, and one of her Uncle owned a Taxi service, which also made "deliveries" and when she was a little girl, he would give her "packages" to deliver.
I still have a partial Mason jar in the freezer (been there for about 4 years)

I also don't get the goobers doing the TV show, but it is fun to watch..

Don't try friggin' Portuguese moonshine. Yes there is such a thing. They make it out of the leftover grape mashings from wine making. The stuff is brutal. Tastes nasty, strong as bull balls, but get's the job done.
A lot of Portuguese up in this neck of the woods. Had a few customers and bought a jug once. One of my many life's mistakes ;)

The answer is this................

A buddy of mine used to own a liquor store. I would go over on a Saturday afternoon for a beer run and hang out and chat with my buddy and some of the other regulars.

He sold (legal) moonshine in a ceramic jug like the movies. He said he had several customers that preferred the taste of that stuff to any other "diluted" commercial booze.

In Italy, it is called Grappa. They take all of the leftovers from wine making, add sugar and ferment. The whole thing is then distilled, giving the "moonshine" flavor.

Flash Back to mid 1970's in the States.

Thank you Jimmy Carter (and his brother Billy) for making even home-brew beer legal.

Even home brew beer I believe is limited to 200 gallons a year or something like that.........he who pitches the yeast into the sugar water of beer/wine is the "brewer/owner"

Home Brew Hard Booze and Stills are legal in New Zealand. You can buy kits retail. Dig around on here lots of links.

Moonshine Supplies

You can buy books and "some" equipment off the shelf in the US states, if you want to make your own "distilled water" at home cough cough.

the Condenser is the tricky part, turning steam (at the right temp and time) into liquid extract.

Ahhhh OK. Great Googly-Moogly that stuff is horrible. I'll tell you what. I was so hungover from it, the next morning I was walking to the local 7-11 for a cup of coffee. Was spending the night over some friends house in Portland Me. Anyway there was snow piled up everywhere and I was just walking all of the sudden a friggin' passenger train goes whipping by. I was literally 2 maybe 3 feet from the tracks. I turned around and went back without my coffee. My buddy asked me what happened. I said I almost walked into a moving train.
If someone said to me they almost walked into a moving train I'd be like how the fuch dumb can you be??? Did I say that is horrible stuff?
NEVER AGAIN!!!

Years ago when I lived in Alabama I went to the local grocery store. The man in line in front of me was dressed like a Halloween costume of a hillbilly but it was no costume. He was buying 50 lbs of potatoes and a lot of sugar and yeast. I guess he really liked to bake sweet potato cakes.
