T9 for me too. I would have upgraded when they released more seats, but I purchased T9 through TM who said they couldn't/wouldn't cancel and the better seats were direct through COTA. Either way, I think it'll be a heck of a thing to see. Maybe next time I'll get better seats if I really like it and want to go back.

I was also at T9. I thought that was a great spot with views of a lot of the track. It was also nice that the sun was behind us all day. I've got a bunch of pics, and posted a few in the other Austin F1 thread, but it'll take me a while to get through them all and crop and convert from raw.

My son and I had a great time will be back next year. We left Tuesday and drove to Las Cruces, New Mexico finished the day at a great local Brew/Pup.
Made it to Austin on Wed. evening found another local Brew/Pub to finish the day. We spent Thursday checking out Austin, ate the best BBQ I've ever had. Check in for the workers was that evening, got all my official worker info, where when and what for the next day.
I was stationed at T-15 for the entire weekend, a pretty slow corner so not a lot of drama. The F-1 cars are crazy loud and crazy fast, loved the GT3's didn't know my friend Loren Beggs was racing until I saw his car come around the corner turns out he was the championship in his class.
Friday night we were able to walk the pits while the teams were working on the cars, very cool experience. Seeing the cars all stripped down was great, teams were nice willing to ask questions.
I was very impressed and how well organized everything was, a couple hick ups the first morning but nothing too bad.
A few pics from my phone, lost my SD card reader, post more later. A great time and great road trip with the boy.

Now I'm official.

T-15

Flaggin supplies

On track T-15

I was Comms. for the GT3 race.

Turn 11, 1st lap of the Ferrari Challenge. It would suck to just make it around a half lap and then be out.

Rubbin' is Racin'?!

I was bummed, this was a pretty clear shot of MS, but the original cuts off the front tire and wing, so I figured I may as well crop it down a bit. I think it's cool that using a 300mm lens, I still managed to capture the cf clearly enough to see the weave. Granted, most of my pics were not as clear. I should have bumped the ISO and shutter speed up a bit and I'd have ended up with a lot more good shots. Oh well, next time...

Heh. That Ferrari ran off the track right in front of me as I was sitting on the hill in Turn 11.

I was also impressed with David McNeal driving the WeatherTech.com Ferrari. Who knew a guy in the floor mat business could drive?

I remembered from the other thread that someone had said that they spent most of their time at Turn 11 in General Admission. That must have been you.

I figured it was just sponsorship, but yeah, it's the head honcho.
