A Porsche Technical Question At Last

OMG I actually have a Porsche technical question! I'm so excited, or would be if I weren't waiting for a tow truck.

Thread at

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/719263-your-standard-no-start-3-2-carrera.html#post7112750

in case anyone wants to chime in with OT comments.

gshase 11-25-2012 01:53 PM

A small amount of smoke on start up is normal.

jyl 11-25-2012 02:19 PM

Ahh - DME relay, the one-size-fits-all answer to no-start and no-run.

WTF, I replaced the DME relay, and still have problems! (As explained in the Technical Forum thread.)

I must not own enough spoons.

kaisen 11-25-2012 02:20 PM

Replace it with a Zetec

Time to drop in a 3.6. Motor Meister is running a holiday special.

So is Unplanned Parenthood. Makes sense, they both specialize in abortions.

Umm, emotional problem. Just like a sad/jealous/angry/all of the above, girlfiend. The car saw you looking at a 993.

Joe Bob 11-25-2012 08:11 PM

Snow Tires....

1990C4S 11-26-2012 07:15 AM

Get an Audi. A black wagon.

kaisen 11-26-2012 07:30 AM

Maybe it's your gerorator?

LakeCleElum 11-26-2012 08:10 AM

Always check coolant level first.........That's usually the problem.....

If that don't do it, ignore John Walker's advise and read the next 20 silly posts........

GH85Carrera 11-26-2012 08:25 AM

You need a new coboy hat!

Bill Douglas 11-26-2012 10:53 AM

I really don't know. But the next time my car breaks down is it OK to call you. Your diagnostics are excellent. (but my money is on bad fuel).

McLovin 11-26-2012 10:56 AM

Hire a lawyer.

rcecale 11-26-2012 11:49 AM

Randy

ltusler 11-26-2012 03:02 PM

Whatkind of oil did you use?

MBAtarga 11-26-2012 03:35 PM

Go ahead and keep the Carrera tail on - you don't need the front spoiler!

jyl 11-26-2012 03:53 PM

I think I need to sacrifice a bicycle to the car gods.

But it also started and ran if you kept your foot on the gas, right?

Simple, the DME was bad, and you have a second problem in the fuel system.

Sometimes **** happens in pairs.

Just your lucky day, bad luck that is.
