What a waste...

What a waste of a perfectly good day... I should have been online reading the 911 Tech Forum and learning something, instead of watching the Oakland Raiders try to pull their heads out of their collective tailpipes. Arrgh!

Think you had it bad I watched the Steelers

ckelly78z 11-25-2012 06:04 PM

Yea, i'm a Steelers fan in Browns territory........it sucked today, but yesterday was good Buckeyes beat the wolverines !

dan88911 11-25-2012 06:06 PM

49ers got a W.

Go 9ers!

stomachmonkey 11-25-2012 07:26 PM

Some unhappy Cheeseheads right about now.

donagain1 11-26-2012 04:39 AM

Landrover, I'm still reelin' from the '72 playoffs and the immaculate reception. Bygones. Big Ben is certainly having his share of troubles these days. Yup, gotta figure the cheesers are gulping after today, which brings me to Dan's post... 9ers coulda had Rodgers but opted instead for Smith. Had it happened, they might not have picked up Kaepernick, the kid for the new era! That's a nice red/gold lining in the silver/black cloud that besets us old-time Raider fans, at least we've got 'em as a backup team.

I was disappointed that the Steelers game was not being shown when I tuned in at 1pm. By 2pm I was glad it wasn't.

The raiders are to football what the Cubs are to baseball...

Actually I take that back... at least the Cubs are lovable!

sammyg2 11-26-2012 08:25 AM

My favorite NFL team won.
(That's whoever is playing the raiders) ;)

I don't care about pro football, but why on Earth would someone care about the Raiders? They move wherever they can get a deal. IF I were into NFL, I'd probably side with Green Bay since the city owns them. Raiders, Rams, Colts, Dodgers, Jazz, didn't they all skulk out in the middle of the night?

Don't forget the Ravens.

Hey, that's fifteen yards for piling on, dudes. If you're not a fan, go for a drive. Bein' an Oakland fan's rough duty these days as it is, ya know, but what's a guy who grew up there and had season tickets throughout the Madden glory years gonna do? Like the Pitts fans who chimed in above, the Chuck Noll years with Bradshaw, Harris, Bleier, Frenchie & company along with Mean Joe, L.C., Dwight, and Ernie slamming most anything that came their way (and if it got through there was Jack Ham) is what keeps them going during times like these.

NE won. Yea, so they appear to be right on track to once again disappoint when it really starts to count....

Seeing as NE is on the down side of the hill, I really need to start looking for a team on the up side of the hill.

Be a Chiefs fan, the only direction they can go is up!

What keeps this Steelers fan (who wasn't even born during the Steel Curtain days) has been their success in THIS century as well as the prospect of their success continuing in the near/long term future. Maybe now that the Raiders have new people calling the shots there won't be so many Jamarcus Russell/"trade the draft for Carson Palmer" type mistakes.

Why do you think NE is on the decline? They're actually starting to play halfway decent defense. Brady is showing no signs of deterioration. They have a running game for a change.

Things seem to be in great shape in New England.

Well, he COULD be a Jacksonville or Cleveland fan as well.

NE has been a great team for some time now. Though I am still pissed at the staff for the 2 losses to the Giants. They just seem to figure out a way to bumble in the post season. Hence my comment about them excelling at disappointing when it really starts to count. Exhibit A would be last year's super bowl.

For my next team, I'm thinking of something more west coast. You know, it's a big country there's lots to see kind of thing. Not ready just yet but soon.

I'm not sure if the two Super Bowl losses are more of an indictment of the Patriots or the validation of Eli Manning as one of THE BEST clutch players in the league right now. Of course, had NE played a little more defense... maybe different outcomes, and instead of Eli emerging from Peyton's shadow, we are saying that Belichick and Brady are the greatest coach and QB to ever play the game, with the 5 rings they would have had.

Esel Mann 11-27-2012 05:57 AM

No doubt, BnB have a dynasty going for them. I've certainly enjoyed it. Especially after the Bledsoe and Parcells/Carroll debacles. There could even be a couple more in BnB. What concerns me is when they enter into the post season, seeing little to no adjustments in their plays when the other team has clearly caught on. They keep doing the same damn thing over and over. It's like they tried hitting their head into the wall to see if that solves the problem and when it doesn't they go and do it again and again! That's not a problem with the players, that's clearly on the staff.

As far as the Giants recent SB wins, absolutely, hat has to go off to Giants and Eli. After all they did win and do so fair and square.

donagain1 11-27-2012 11:07 AM

Brad, you've got that right. I'd all but purged the JaMarcus episode from my consciousness, so thanks for the reminder. 8-(

I've long felt that as Welker goes, so go the Pats games. If he's on, they're slammin'. Even without the Gronk, they've got a heck of an offense.
