TR6 in Worcester, MA - Pelican's around?
With a soon-to-be vacancy in the garage (thanks to Drdogface taking the reins of our 49 Chevy 5 window PU), I've been considering another TR6 to fill the void. Had a 71 many years ago and really missed that car for a long time after parting company.
There's one available in Worcester, MA, that exact same color combo (albeit it's a 75) that appears to be in very nice condition. Also has a factory hardtop which is getting harder to find. The owner indicates it's a rust-free example, always garaged and in very nice shape. Triumph TR6 (and yes, the white walls have to go). Any chance there is a local Pelican that might consider having a look for me? Mostly want to be sure it's as described, dry underneath, no rust in the pans/trunk/fender seams, dash cracks, etc., before getting too far down the road. Shopping is always fun and it does seem counter-intuitive to live in the South, yet considering a car from the North. ![]() Appreciate any help/thoughts,

It's a good hour away but I could look at it this week. Day is better so you can see something, weather needs to be nice too.

Thanks Shaun. I don't want to chase you out there if I'm not serious about the car. I will contact the seller again to drill down a bit more on details. If all checks out, will let you know.
And of course, if anyone is closer, it would save probably 3 hours+ of Shaun's time! Thanks again,

Don't worry about the time Mike, I'm flexible, just as easy to work at night if I can see it during the day.

I'd meet you there Shaun for a quick hello and look at the car if the day works out. I could go Thursday or Friday.

I don't think I have time to drive to Charleston. The BBQ alone would make it worthwhile though.

Shaun and Mark....looks like it's on. Need to check your schedule for later in the week. Weather looks good for Wed - Fri. Let me know which day works and I'll try to coordinate with owner. He said you're welcome to drive it also.
You guys are awesome!

Ok guys....working on it now. Stay tuned.
The 71 looks nice also...and a great price. Not thrilled with the color, but certainly a viable plan "B". Stay tuned,

I'm in Charleston to take a look at plan "B" if needed.
![]() I had a '69 and a '75 TR6 years ago. Enjoyed every day I had them and the days I sold them! |

Mark and Shaun....just talked with the owner. He's not available on Thursday. He's a physician and has a full patient load on Thursday but....he's off Friday. Any time Friday will work if that's ok with you guys. Alternatively Sat or Sun after 10am is ok too. I told him Friday would probably work best (based on post above). Just let me know.
Shaun....will e-mail you with his name and phone number. I've introduced you guys to him and told him that one of you would call him to get address and firm time to check her out. He has owned the car since the late 80's and has had several other Triumphs over the years. Said he's done all his own work and sounded quite knowledgeable. Seems like a good chap. We'll see! A930...thanks for the offer. May be worthwhile looking into. Much prefer a southern car, but that color...man, that color!

BTW, I have no connection to the car I linked. Just happened to see it the other day looking for another car.
The color might be ok. I'm on the fence about it. I saw a bright green TR6 today that looked immaculate. We were turning the corner when I saw it parked. Absolutely beautiful. |
