Christmas tree up! 09/12/12 too early?

OK the lovely Mrs decided its time to decorate the house and put up the tree. Feels kinda early for me but she says we are so busy between now and Christmas it better go up now! I like the holidays and it feels cozy in here for sure now! What say you guys/gals... too early? When do you set up?

After thanksgiving, never before. One holiday at a time.

Did you honestly mean September 12 of this year ? I absolutely would have laid down the law on that one. In our house I refuse to celebrate one holiday before the next scheduled ones have arrived (I.E. Thanksgiving before Christmas). 9-12-12 is honestly too early to put up Holloween decorations, let alone Christmas decorations.

Christmas eve here. That was how we did it when I was a kid and still do. Nothing makes me detest retail more than having to smack Santa out of my way to get Halloween candy.
Like Angela said. one at a time

UHM......to clarify, Dec 09 2012....Yeah Sept would have been a little early LOL!!! As a kid we would get on the snowmobiles with dad the day before Christmas, collect our tree from the forest and decorate it Christmas eve.....great memories!

My wife puts ours up right after Thanksgiving....Sept would be a bit early for me, but who really cares as long as they're happy.

Our cut Christmas tree is up, Christmas lights on outside, Christmas music playing on Itunes, many Christmas presents are already under the Christmas tree.

Next is the whisky cake, I just need the motivation to bake.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

St. Nikolaus Day is Dec. 6th, so not too early for the tree.

Day after turkey day is tradition for many.

I am surprised at some of the early Christmas events around. My church has had Handel's Messiah each year for the last 100 years, except during the world wars. This year it was on Dec 1st! Usually it is second week in December.

And today is the last day for some other Christmas holiday festivities. There is a gingerbread house display that is over today and the Nutcracker ended today. Why?

MJ put up ONE of our trees (she has a forest) last night while I was playing a gig. She IS the queen of Christmas so I would say you are good to go.

** It was really cool coming home at 3a.m. to a lit tree and fresh toll house cookies. Love that gal. **

Right after Thanksgiving dinner is cleaned up. If I'd let her she'd have it up 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. We have 4 trees. 3 artificial and one fresh cut. This years tree is about 15 ft. As long as I don't have to pull all of that stuff out and pack it up I'm OK. My wife loves Christmas and already has the bottom of the tree full of presents. The good and fun of the season far out ways the negatives of the season.

This tree, the village and the rest went up last week-end...

Beautiful tree Art. Good job Beth!

Thanks, David! Beth manages to get everything done, even with her mother in the hospital!

Mine went up today too. I don't care for x-mas decorations, I just put the tree up half way straight and let the family do the rest. I do enjoy the smell o a real tree. It is like you are camping inside your house! :D

Got the tree today, as well. I'll get around to trimming it probably next weekend, once I dig our ornaments out of my parents' garage. (Not sure why my sister decided to "store" them there.)
