This year I finally was able to take it to the shop. It's been there the last 2 months or so and I picked it up Monday. She's gorgeous :D I switched to a GT3 style wing.
Props to Auto Associates in Canton Ct. They are a great group of guys and do awesome work.

Can you describe what happened in that crash, Mark. A little hard to tell from that camera angle, but it just looked like too much, and too abrupt steering input as you drifted towards the edge of the track out?

Sorry to see that happen, but the Phoenix looks great!!

Amazing transformation! Wow..you are lucky to have incredible local talent! How much was the repair bill, if you don't mind sharing. Hopefully no more mishaps on the track.

9dreizig 12-12-2012 08:03 PM

Nice Mark!!! Just in time for winter!!!

Baz 12-12-2012 08:06 PM

I think that's exactly what happened, too abrupt steering input trying to set up for the left hand turn. My instructor was teaching me throttle steering which is pretty cool so I think my tires were also a bit greasy from sliding more than I ever had.

Well let's just say the bill was just south of 5 figures. No more tracking for me without track insurance that's for sure.

Thanks Baz. It has been a long time. Not going to make it down for this years 24 hours but already talking with guys about next year, taking the car train down so we have them there.

redstrosekNic 12-13-2012 04:45 AM

Looks fantastic! I like your choice of wing :)

Halm 12-13-2012 05:45 AM

Outstanding, Mark. The car looks better than ever.

Look forward to seeing it soon.

Came out nice...all covered by insurance right? .....after you swerved to avoid hitting a deer on the way home from church?
Were they able to re-use the aero mirror, or is that a new one?

What tires were you running? They sure seemed noisy -- and I wonder if they ended up too hot and ultimately "let go"? It didn't appear to me that you did anything remarkably different (though I am only watching and listening).

Thanks for sharing the video -- your car looks great. Lime Rock looks like a blast, too. I hope you've been back on track since the incident.

Hey Hal, nice to hear from you and thank you. Looking forward to the season for sure. Will you make it back up this year for the Mountain Mille?

How did you know??? ;) Na, straight from the pocket, that's what took so long. Believe it of not only needed a new base & that was because one of the bosses/studs broke.

Your welcome ZOO & thank you.
I was on Sumitomo HRTZ's. I think heat buid up was part of the equation for sure. Like I said my instructor was teaching me throttle steering which did heat the tires up more than I would usually get them. In the report to the PCA he told them I out ran the tires. Still my bad :(

A couple other pics...

The wing doesn't stick out over the flairs like the pic looks but it's a cool picture :D

Wow! Nice come back from that!
I really like the duck/wing combo, who makes that set up? Looks like its made specifically for the high GT3 wing?

Are those wheels Zuff 17"s, new euromeisters or ?

Very nice 911 btw

The wing/duckling is from Getty Design. I was a bit disappointed at the quality of the carbonfiber wing. It was supposed to be finished, if you will. AA had to scuff sand it and clear the whole top. But all in all it is made very well.

As far as the wheels go they are Alton Fuchs, (Zuff). I still say Alton as I was in on the original purchase when Jeff still owned the design. And thanks for bringing them up because I wanted to give a shout out to Jeff and kept forgetting. The car took quite the hit as you can see. The wheels stayed true when even the body was moved about a quarter of an inch. I was worried about them especially the rears being one offs. But Jeff assured me if they were messed up he could & would repair them. A stand up guy.
