I have an Arbor, but I don't drink and skate

Back in the day I had an Infinity fiberglass board with Speed Spring trucks and Power Paw wheels. It was a cool slalom board.

I have thought about getting an Arbor to match my Arbor Element Snowboard. How does it ride? Do you actually use it?

Oh good old G&S. My favorite ride back in the late '80's was the old H-Street. could ollie easily onto picnic table tops with that bad boy.

I had a G&S with nose protector, side rails, gull wing trucks with Yo-yo wheels. Wish I still had it. Now I ride long boards. I have a nice Sector 9 Luke Nosewalker.

Anybody ever help with organizing and fundraising for a city skatepark?

The next city over (pop 65,000) is trying to raise $$ for a skatepark. I was interested in lending a hand. Anybody have experience in this area?

I recently picked up my Schmidt Stix Lucero when I was at my folks. It has Gull Wing trucks on it, and P&P Wheels. I thought it had Tracker Trucks.....

Now if I only hadn't broken my first gen Tony Hawk board, that is one I would like to still have now....

For Dipso:

My first board as a kid was a "Black Knight." If you are old enough to remember that, you know what that was like! Metal wheels!

Then a yellow "Banana board." Those were all the rage in So. Cal. in the early 70s. Non-metal wheels were a revelation.

I think my last one as a kid was an Alva deck, tracker trucks and green Kryptonics wheels.

G&S Fiberflex board, Tracker Trucks with Rad Pads, Sims Pure Juice Wheels. I still have it!

Rode it at the Carlsbad Skate Park, I think the first in the world. Which if you do some digging means 1976. Yikes.

Grew up in Escondido, made the money to buy the board (my third) by selling starts (new subscriptions) to the Times-Advocate. Good times.

Other fave board was a aluminum Pipeline, Gullwings, switching between Alligator wheels and Kryptos.

I cant remember the exact board but I remember it was a SantaCruz and I know I had independant trucks and slime ball wheels with the requisite "german" bearings. This was around 1991??

I remember soaking the wheels in Draino to make them slippery so it was easier to slide 180's and 360's

Ah yes, it was Bruce Logan, the mighty and heavy Earthski and an Alva. Skateparks in the seventies and eighties. Those were the days, all fun and no responsibilities.

ha-ha...memories. My recent board was purchased 11 years ago on a trip to O.C. MD--me and a buddy were bored one day so when everyone else went to the bar, we hopped into cloudbreak skate shop picked up a complete set-up for 100.00 and skated the boardwalk all day(not knowing it was illegal)--since it was late in the season, nobody seemed to mind

board is still in the basement--hardly used--hook-ups G-Force deck, Hawk trucks, slimeballl wheels and shorty bearings.

Alien Workshop deck
Cadillac trucks
Spitfire wheels

circa 1991

I still ride off an on but I'm about to buy another setup and start going to the park.

Pressure flips and late shoveits baby. The plan b videos from that era: Questionable, Virtual Reality. Blind's Video Daze. OMG I was a little kid but it got me into it so hard.

Remember those crappy old plastic Makahas and Santa Cruz's back in the '70s. Those where so many guys first boards. They where like $12 I had another board back then I loved. I cant remeber the make, it was real thin fiberglass with a beach or surf scene laminated in it. Real crappy board, but it was so cool looking.

I re-purposed my old board years ago to move engines around the shop.
