After thirty years of doing architecture, my father became a tattoo artist because he was fascinated with the art and the challenge.

Just because YOU dont like it doesnt mean it's wrong. Lemme guess... Alberta, right?

What do you practice on? Fresh ham hocks?

I really need to get into tattoo removal technology. I must be booming soon - if not already.

Mike, you are an odd cat.

There are no regulations on tattoo equipment at the moment. You can buy new kits on Amazon. If you think this is so wrong, write up some legislation and hand it to your local official that can make put into law.

Those that become artists usually apprentice under a known artist until they get their license. You and I can both buy the equipment tomorrow and start inking up our friends. I bet they are not happy when all is done and the tat looks like crap!

George, yes, you can practice on meat. :)

WOW - who did that? His 12 year old buddy? :(

I just read up on laser removal. Prime candidate there - dark ink.

Met a very cool couple on a music cruise many years ago (and reunited on several others). When he was "young, dumb, drunk" and overseas he'd gotten his name tattooed on his upper arm by a non-english speaker I assume. "Fred"...(rhymes with "bread" doesn't it?)...so of course he had a nice looking tat..."FREAD". He's since had it corrected but we always have a big old laugh when we reconnect. Of course, I now call him "Freed"...

ps: At least it was better than "Moom" :)

I guess if you want to enshrine your feelings forever......get a tattoo, and then live with it for the next 60 years. IMO, it's stupid and permanent, and should cost alot of money to remove (as punishment for being so stupid in the first place).

Oh, tell your nephew with that fabulous wrist art that it disqualified him instantly from working for the FBI, CIA, secrect service, and anywhere in the law enforcement fields where undercover work is possible.........really stupid.

In college I worked with a guy that was practicing to be a tattoo artist. We would borrow his buddy's gun and practice on himself. Mostly his legs since it was easy. For about a month we were talking about starting a business together. I ended up buying him his first gun in that process. He ended up going into the Marines instead.
