Very disappointing, I hate thieves
I live in a very nice neighborhood of 18 homes on large, wooded lots. There is only one entrance that ends in a tee with a culdesac on each side. Last night I put out the trash and recycling with holiday cards and tips in clear plastic bags for the guys who service my neighborhood. This morning as I was leaving I noticed they were gone! Stolen by some lowlife. This kind of crap really makes me mad!

That would p!ss me off to no end!
I hate thieves! |
'Tis the season...

I had a card and tips for the paper lady (same kind residential layout) but waited for darkness and even for the neighbor across to finis his snow blowing before I put it out.

Because there is nothing the paper lady appreciates more than you waiting for her in the dark...
All teasing aside, good on ya. The fellow who is currently delivering our newspaper will get a nice tip this year. Paper always on time, always in plastic if it's wet outside, and it is left WHERE I CAN FIND IT - same place every morning. angela |
Good on you for at least making an effort! My trash guys leave a mess in the street, so I'm not very inclined to tip them.
We live in a similar neighborhood with no thru traffic, but I've seen all too much evidence of the sort of people that prowl it at night. Leaving your garage door open is nearly a guarantee that stuff will be missing in the morning, we've put items like old furniture out for trash only to find it gone the next day, and cars with exposed valuables are sometimes broken into. Sadly crime has no address.... |
Friend of mine had packages stolen off his front porch. His neighbors security camera caught the car on video. A W140 Mercedes S class!

my hometown. the garbage men would not take your Christmas tree unless you include a gift. for us, it was a case of budweiser. with a cold case of beer, you didnt even need to remove the ornaments..just dump it. tree and beer gone!
my current home, it isnt going to happen. the gifts would be stolen right away. |

When I was a kid delivering the paper, we collected by weekly, so face to face we always got a tip. Nowadays its by banking payment so I bet a lot of the carrier get zip. |

Ditto - Friend had two cases of Brad Penn lifted from in front of his garage. Remote location on a mountain side and he travels for work. Prowlers wait for UPS/Fedex to deliver then just slip on down the driveway. $100+ worth of oil, but he bought with AMEX so will get reimbursed. Security camera is on order. Could have been worse. |
