iTunes latest version problems

first, if you still have version 10, keep it. 11 is terrible. i have never been an iTunes hater until now..

It freezes up, crashes, is generally slow and worst of all is the removal of key features

perhaps im not seeing it but the ability to make a playlist and then shuffle it and then export that shuffled playlist to my ipod/iphone was my favorite feature. i cant seem to do this any more. when i now hit shuffle, instead of the songs shuffling into a random order and staying that way until i change it, the songs just play in random order

so now i have to manually shuffle or rearrange playlists that i sometimes have a thousand or more songs in?

If I am wrong and you know how to do it, please tell me

If you have a current playlist of the songs you want,

go to the 'playlists' tab or button or whatever.

Click the PLUS sign down on the bottom left, and select "new smart playlist"

In the dialog that pops up select "Match the following rule"

"Playlist ------- IS --------- (your old playlist with all the songs you like) "

check the box to "Limit to (xx) items, selected by RANDOM"

Make sure the number you enter is less than the total amount of songs in that old playlist you like.

It should autofill this new playlist randomly with songs from that old playlist you like.

IF you just want a fresh playlist of random songs from your entire library, then do the same thing but select

"media kind ----- iS ------ Music" instead of "Playlist ----- IS ------ xx"

I agree I'm certainly not enjoying this version yet.

Damn! Cindy dowloaded the new crap when the window came up...My fault, I shoulda warned her.

Anybody know if there is a way to get 10 back?

I'm not having any trouble with 11. Kinda like it.

I'm not real fond of it yet.

I'm working with it - I liked the way things were but so far I have been able to do everything I used to. Not sure why they changed it or what they added though. If they didn't ADD anything then the change is worthless.

iTunes was widely proclaimed to have a terrible UI, so they tried to fix it. I really do not like iTunes '11, but I have a feeling that some time spent with it would be beneficial and fix some of the dislikes I have. Worst problem I have had is that it 'loses' connected devices. I have to quit and relaunch. Overall, not impressed. I have a sinking feeling about Jobs not being in charge at Apple any longer. I think the guy was a mad genius, and it might be downhill from here.

That little down arrow next to the device name is the eject. Just click the device name, not the down arrow.

I'm a late adapter, thanks for the warning.
