Research the carbon issues the E39 M5s have at 90-110K miles

If the heads have never been off, it would be rare that you'd escape that expense in your stewardship. It's very, very common. And expensive ($5000-8000, or more)

Here's 94 pages of discussion in one thread. And there are dozens of threads.

While I haven't seen this car, I know Paul, the seller very well. He is a true car guy and honest to a fault. I'd be happy to take a look for you but his description is going to be accurate to a fault and more informative than any I could provide.

Give him a call, ask questions of him and know, with certainty, that what he tells you is the truth.

Schomp BMW is one of the best regarded dealerships in Colorado as well.

i would be happy to look at the car for you,
on a side note there are a few bmw shops close by- bimmerhaus broomfield would be a good choice for a PPI, they will know everything to look for.

Does look like a nice example. Still needs a good PPI from a disinterested party, though.

Thanks everyone, very seldom do i get such stunning recommendations for a dealer. Saxen, thanks for the offer, might take you up on it and reccommend a PPI. It would be good to know what i am getting into from the PPI anyway.

Merry Christmas!

Alf
