Pizza Too Small?
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 26-year-old man has been charged after police say he fired shots at a pizza delivery guy, after the man claimed the pizza he ordered was “too small.”
Officers were called around 11:31 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 to a residence on the 2100 block of Russell Avenue North. The victim, a 45-year-old man, said he was delivering a pizza to the residence when the customer began arguing with him. The customer, identified as Demetrius Patterson, of Chicago, IL, said the size of the pizza was too small and demanded the delivery guy give him both of the pizzas he had in his vehicle. The victim told police he didn’t want to argue, so he began to leave. The delivery guy brought the pizza back to his car, but as he was walking, he said Patterson came out of the home and started firing shots at him. The pizza delivery guy said he was able to flee in his car and was not injured. He then called police. Police located Patterson in the apartment of his girlfriend and placed him under arrest. They also located shell casings and a handgun in the apartment. Patterson was booked into Hennepin County Jail. He has been charged with second-degree assault. The guy's got two things to work on: 1) Anger management, and 2) his aim.

Add 'pizza delivery guys' to the list.

I hope it was at least a 40 and not some wimpy 9 mm

If the pizza delivery guy had a gun then at least someone would be dead and the news would have an even better story to tell.
That was sarcasm for the slow folk who are color blind and couldn't tell it was written in green. |
I like talking with the Pizza guys who deliver to our rental houses. They all open carry, and they ride two to a car. The last guy was telling us stories. He has been robbed 4 times at gunpoint. Two robberies ago, they pulled him from the car , and beat the tar out of him. He had a few scars on his face from the that one. All over $45.00
The owner of the pizza shop , is a friend of a friend , and he was taking a delivery himself on a Saturday afternoon. He said that as soon as he was pulling up to the house, it just did not feel right, and he was on high alert. He already had his gun in his hand ,and sure enough, some young kid came up to the car , and stuck a gun in his face demanding all his money. He said that he always though he would blast someone in this situation, but when it came right down to it, he begged the kid not to to shoot, handed over the money, and was happy to go home to his family alive, and without all the grief that would come from killing a young black man in the neighborhood. Bring me a small pizza when I order a large , though, and you deserve what you get. |
Maybe we should just outlaw pizza delivery...

We just need a new gun law that makes shooting a pizza delivery guy illegal.....
|
Just another responsible gun owner. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Yep, you nailed it Choc. I'll guarantee that guy was a fine upstanding citizen who obtained that gun legally and obeyed all the local firearms ordinances.
After all, the place has the strictest gun laws in the country. Yep you won this argument... |
You can tell he also went to the range and practised because he didn't hit the delivery guy
I looked up what he might get: Second Degree Assault You may be charged with 2nd degree assault if you assault someone with a dangerous weapon. If the alleged victim suffers “substantial bodily harm” you will face a potential sentence of up to 10 years and fines of $20,000. However, if there is not “substantial bodily harm”, the potential sentence is dropped to up to 7 years in prison and $14,000 in fines. Minnesota Statute §609.222 |

I'm curious how he knew the driver had other pizzas in the car to deliver. I can't see how that would come up. |
either way, he'll go to jail. exactly what he deserves

Man charged in pizza delivery man's beating or how 'bout just outlawing fists??? Delivery driver beaten, robbed or, as I said earlier...let's just outlaw pizza delivery! Randy |
I'm sure glad I live in a neighborhood where I leave my keys in the car and don't lock my doors.......

ghetto people...

I had a nephew by marriage who ordered a pizza and then robbed the delivery guy at gun point. He seemed surprised when the cops came back to his apartment to arrest him. Effing genius. He did a year or two in prison. Got out, got arrested again a few times. Stole his grandmothers car, etc. Both parents are Woodstock type hippy liberals.

Of course, it would have been nice if the legal owner of that gun had it locked in a gun safe where it belonged. Perhaps this nut-job wouldn't be using it to shoot at pizza delivery guys out just trying to earn an honest buck. But that's just my humble opinion. |
