What were the best and worst events for

you in 2012?
Worst event was the passing on of my mother in the UK.
Best? Many including your good advice which heightened my knowledge which led to greater achievements.:):)

Worst; 2 exploritory surguries and related tests to determine extent of my re-occuring Hodgkins lymphoma (relatively minor).
ALSO
Getting t-boned in my 83 944 by a jerk running a stop sign while he was talking on the phone. We were both doing about 60 mph and I sustained a crushed pelvis, broken ribs, cracked sternum, broken foot, lacerated liver, and later on, blood clots in both legs.

Best; Having 5 months off to recover from injuries while also getting chemotherapy and leanrning how much my friends mean to me during trying times.

Got my 71 E-Type Jag running smooth, thats a good thing.
Worked 45 days and got paid for 365 days, thats a great thing
Nothing bad out of the normal happened, thats the best thing.

I really hope that you get fully compensated for your injuries by your insurance co.
I cannot imagine the pain you are going through.I hope you make a full recovery.

I like to focus on positives. Good first:

My family is happy and healthy. We have hit a very nice place, which can be a challenge with 3 school age kids.

Second best, my a-hole manager got fired for being a bad person! It has been like Christmas every day at work since! My business is much much better.

Worst: I was in a car accident as well.

Summary - the good stuff is far better than the bad, Even if I still have symptoms and issues from the accident.

Best: Wife retired from 33 years as an Elementary and Middle School teacher. She has time to write, paint and for other activities.

Worst: Eldest brother passed from cancer.

Life goes on.

I will be going back to work in about a week or two so I can hopefully lose some of the weight I put on doing almost nothing for most of that 5 months.

My insurance company is being good to me, the guy who hit me has state minimum coverage so it will be a challenge to see any pain and suffering payout. Oh well, life is still good and I can laugh about it all.

fastest day of my life: wedding day - the time just flew by.
longest day of my life: the birth of my oldest son - a very long time
saddest day of my life: my wife telling me she was leaving me
2nd saddest day of my life: driving my youngest son to the airport to go off to Utah - a 2nd Nature theraputic program. I cried on the way to the airport.
The happiest day still alludes me but I have had several happy moments.

Worst: Hearing that my longtime Mentor and friend of nearly 30 yearsis dying of Cancer leading to perforated bowels.

Worst: Hearing that my mother is also dying of Cancer.
Worst: Hearing that my ex-wife, who I wanted children with, is pregnant.

Best: Hearing that my ex-wife, who I wanted children with, is pregnant, kicked out by the guy for another woman, living with her parents, and jobless.

She cheated. Karma's a ***ch.

Mine cheated as well and like yours things didn't go to plan.

We're better off without them.

Best for me in 2012: New girl friend who is just a sweet heart.
Worst: Can't thinks a decent one. Hope 2013 is the same.

2012 kicked me at every corner and beat me down as bad as I have ever been. The best part is it will be over very soon.
13 doesn't look too good through the chrystal ball but we'll decide that when it gets here

slodave 12-30-2012 03:32 AM

2012 was like 2011 like 2010 and so it goes and so it goes....no ups or downs that are not part of the natural cycle. Just get on keep on keeping on...

HardDrive 12-30-2012 09:40 AM

2012 was a pretty rotten year. Endless legal battle, uncertainty, delays in my projects, issues with our home.....

....but out of that you can always find diamonds. My wife and I realized that after 16 years, when the schitz hits the fan, we are still a great team. We all have our health. No major money issues. Marriage working, healthy family, food on the table.....we are very lucky.

cashflyer 12-30-2012 10:15 AM

After reading this stuff, I'm thinking my year was pretty damn peachy.

Best:
Getting my dog back, after it had been stolen from my yard last fall.
Getting my employment contract renewed for another 3 years.

Worst:
My shop getting burglarized twice; losing firearms and tools.
Some misc family problems.

Skytrooper 12-30-2012 03:35 PM

Lets see....

I retired from the DoD world at the end of January, that was pretty cool.
But, the best would have to be having both of my kids move out into the great big world. My son Graduated from R.I.T with a Masters in Imaging Science and (after our trip to Europe) moved to Albuquerque, NM. to work in an awesome job.
My daughter received her Associate Degree in Business and is currently working at an equestrian training facility in northern Virginia, training for international level equestrian eventing (Rolex) with an eye on competing in the Olympics.

I am very, very proud of them both and thoroughly enjoy watching them become well adjusted adults.

Meanwhile my wife and I keep the home fires burning and enjoy puttering about our farmette with 13 chickens, 2 horses (retired competion horses), 3 dogs, and 3 cats.

I am loving life !!

Ronbo 12-30-2012 04:11 PM

Best: Retired after 27 years of government service.

Worst: Nothing really bad this year enough to complain about.

flatbutt 12-30-2012 04:44 PM

Finally being forced to realize that my Mom must go into a nursing home.:(

vash 12-30-2012 04:51 PM

My step dad passing was the worst. The best? Easy. My mom pulling it together and taking an epic trip without him. She still gets sad, but her inner strength makes me choke up with pride.
