Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2

This looks pretty interesting.

ThinkPad Tablet 2 - Win 8-optimized dockable tablet from Lenovo (US)

For about the same price of an ipad, you can get a tablet with an x86 processor that will run a full version of Windows 8. It also has the optional pen/digitizer for taking accurate notes. Does anyone plan on purchasing one?

It looks good, but if I were to get one it would be down the road a bit, as my iPad is still fairly new. I'd want to see/hear how the touch version of Windows 8 was doing as well. iOS is like that quote about democracy - it's the worse mobile OS out there, except for all the others.

We ordered 2 fro work with Win8 Pro. They have yet to arrive though so no hands on opinions yet. We have several iPads here so I can give you a direct comparison on what we use them for.

I've been eyeing this:

Lenovo Yoga Laptop & Tablet PC | Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 with Windows RT | Lenovo (US)

I know I'd miss a keyboard.

Not in any hurry to get anything with Win8 on it.

RT wouldn't work for us. I would love to drop our current clinicals software for something better for more flexibility.

Looks good if it only wasn't a Levono and didn't have win8 on it :)

I think there will be a lot of new tablets this year.

Well I can get one with a 10% discount and I read that you can haggle with them over the phone with some success. I really would like to stack the 10% discount with a small additional one they sent me.

I was planning on eventually getting a tablet to use as a notetaking device for my engineering classes. This way I could archive all my notes and access them easily in the future for reference. It seems a little pricey just to do that, though.

Stealthn, what do you not like about Lenovo? Our institution has a bunch of them and the only problems are that the damn keyboard keys keep breaking and the film on the trackpad peels off. I like that their technical support/sales staff is based in the U.S.
