E bay Issue With Good Results

I have been buying some silver coins on E bay ( WW2 5 Reichsmark Silver ) and 4 packages were delivered on 12/17 by USPS and nothing was in our mail boy that day. All of the packages showed delivered. I contacted the Postal Inspector and they opened a theft case. E bay started to refund the first purchase the next day and 4 days later I am only out $20 out of the $105 total cost. The largest package was insured and the seller said to let him know if I do not get it all back. Tomorrow I call pawn shops and some local coin shops. I know this is not much money but I was pissed with someone getting my mail. These are some rare coins and will be easy to ID. E bay and the Post Office were all so nice to work with. E bay has a buyer protection policy.

I got ripped on an E-bay buy. Pay Pal covered it within 30 days. No complaints here.

You had 4 boxes of silver coins sent USPS?

Congrats on your outcome! SmileWavy

That is how the seller sent them, only 2-4 coins in each package. Now I will sign for any more. Who knew some SOB would grab everything from my mail box.

I wonder if there were any indications of what was in the box, like a return address of "XYZ Rare Coins" etc?

I had some stuff delivered to my house from Crutchfield and will never do that again, they have a huge "Crutchfield" label on their packing tape, and all over the box. Almost everyone knows they sell stereo equipment so that was a big red flag for me.

Luckily they all showed up and I tipped my UPS and FedEX guy because they usually make sure to somewhat hide the packages behind the columns in front of my house, and I appreciate that.

You tip Fedex & UPS drivers??

You have columns in front of your house?

mossguy 01-02-2013 09:28 AM

You have a house?

yes, yes, and yes...:)

The tip was actually a gift card for both guys, it would be nice for them to just put them behind the columns everytime, but I figured it doesnt hurt to give incentive.

I say columns, but its really just an archway that has square posts holding it up.

Don't backstep, Mr. Vanderbilt!

GOLD archway, of course....and that archway leads to my Bugatti Veyron's garage. I have two in case I forget where I park one.

:D
