Home-made battery charger quick disconnect

I made a couple battery charger quick disconnects for the Porsches. For $3.00, they turned out well.

They are trailer connectors from Napa.

Pretty cool! Do you have another disconnect with the alligator clips so you can still use the charger on something else?

Yeah, the charger came with clips that connect to the charger cord. I use the clips on all the other cars/ toys, but after making these quick disconnects, I might make some more to use for everything.

id just disconnect the battery when not in use. Those tenders cause more problems than they solve. Especially in 911' s.

Mine were cheaper, just. The $3.00 bought 1 set of wires with a connector on either side. I cut the assembly in half, then threw some eyelets on the ends.

The cost of each eyelet is negligible, so BAM! $1.50 each! Haha

I don't run a tender all winter. It is a Diehard 2amp battery charger/maintainer that I connect every month or so for 2-3 days. The quick disconnects allow me to easily change the charger from P-car to P-car, then back to clamps for the other batteries.

Here's one of my columns from Vintage Motorsport magazine. It deals with battery chargers.
