how do i get pelican forums to update on next visit?
if i visit the forum at 7am, then click it off at the red X, then go on again later, the old posts from 7am are still there and i need to refresh the page. same thing happens on thehamb.com. which wasn't like that until last week. what's the fix?

why do i have to refresh at all? seems like a browser adjustment/glitch.

JWW It depends on your browser and cache settings... I see that with Chrome on certain websites a lot, untill I updated it to the latest version...

For the most part, a web browser just presents data in a human readable form and layout. To make pages auto refresh, the person who built the site/page would have to put in some code at the beginning of the webpage (invisible to you). That's the short of it. :) |
Some time I log in 3 times a day and it does not update, telling me that the last log in was 12 hours ago...
But some time less than 10 minutes after I log in within a 12 hours break, and go somewhere else and come back it tell me that my last visit was 2 minutes ago so I lost all the "new post" of the last 12 hours :rolleyes::rolleyes: But since this is the greatest forum there is and it's free... I go in the corner and lick my nuts. |
i swear it used to update. 1st thing in the morning, everything is fresh, but not through the day.

Mine does that occasionally. It is like it remembers what the page looked like yesterday and puts that up there.

When my computer does something like that, I try:
start > control panel > internet options > advanced > restore defaults. or my favorite fix-it remedy: start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore (to a previous date) That usually fixes it. Good luck! ~ Rog http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1357776678.jpg |
