Nokia Lumia 920
I wanted to get this phone so I could access a work-related website that requires Internet Explorer. I went into an AT&T store and it only works partially. There must be something different about mobile IE vs regular IE, I guess. Any ideas? No way to emulate IE on an Android, I'm thinking.
The phone is impressive- solid and looks high quality. Any reason to get a Windows phone vs an Andriod? Does AT&T still suck for cellular? They were horrible when I had an iPhone.

Can't answer about ATT cause I don't live in your area. I do know that when I was in SF for Oracle OpenWorld I had zero issues with reception. Where I live ATT is pretty darn good...but not as good as Verizon.
I am a Google fan - my family runs on Android phones. My customers do as well. That said I jumped ship when the Lumia 920 arrived and frankly I have no regrets. The Lumia 920 is an outstanding piece of hardware. I am most impressed with the battery life. I have 5 email accounts linked (15 minute poll) and the phone goes easy 18+ hours before needing a charge. The major drawback moving to WP 8 vs iOS & Android is the much smaller application market. For general purpose stuff the apps are there but for customized apps I think there may be a give. If the WP market will catch up depends on the user base. Lots of people out there with negative views on anything Windows....that is a major hurdle to clear. I find the WP 8 user experience refreshing. YMMV. |

Did you switch IE to request the desktop site vs. the mobile site in the settings when you were playing with it?

No- never heard of that. Is that an option on this phone?

Yep, when in IE on the phone, it's in the settings, which is under the ... at the bottom.
It's called website preference and can be set to mobile or desktop. The site possibly would send different stuff if the mobile website was requested.

I have had my 900 for about 6 months and it has been wonderful. Very happy with it.

I decided to move forward, anyway. A lot to like about that phone and I'll get 14 days to return it for a $35 restocking fee...

I've had the Nokia Lumia 920 since the day it was released (Nov 9th) and I love it. It's fast, reliable, easy to use, integrates easily into Win7 and Win8. I'm very very impressed with it!
