gogar,nostatic,targa911s..bass help!!!!
Somebody please show me the proper or most effective fret work on Floyd's "money" riff!!! I have short stubby fingers and just cant get back smoothly to the A string on the quick shuffle from G, D. I also have a tough time applying enough suitable pressure with my left hand pinkie after some minor nerve damage to that hand.
I know you guys probably find the riff mindless and boring, but I'm trying to get back at it and use it as therapy for my damaged hand. Thanks guys

![]() Not sure what "face time" is? I learned to play it like this before the injury Money - Pink Floyd - Bass Cover (With Tab) - YouTube Only...not even one 10th as good!!! My pinky is basically a cold dead fish and it really takes the groove outta it! Now I see a guy playing it like this? online bass guitar lesson money pink floyd - YouTube Seems like more work...which way is right? I guess I should just keep trying to use my pinky, as it needs the most rehabilitation. (just frustrated)

i play it like the first version. i lay my pinkie flat across both the D an G strings like a chord. the second vid is more work. might be more proper, but he ain't playing 3 hours. i'll try to put a vid together for you. i have never played the song but i worked on it for you.

Yesh, unless you want to tune your bass funny, you're stuck with fretting those two notes on the fourth fret. Perhaps use your ring finger, like Randy suggested.
Another option would be to move back and forth along the neck. Like......do the part that is challenging for you on the A and D strings, further up on the neck where the frets are closer together. You'd still need to slide back down to catch the F#, though. Drummers have a HECKUVA time with this song, because of the 7/4 time thing. Kinda funny.
