Finally no topper! I like my truck :)
Just happy here..
She had been carrying a mismatched & cheap white topper since new.. I just sold it and installed the tonneau I had ready for her.. Kind of my xmas present to my truck.. I like my truck much more now. FYI. It is much harder to find a used tonneau or topper for a SuperDuty box at a decent price. (The tonneau is stamped ford but I guess is manufactured by someone else.) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1358019611.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1358020155.jpg |
Is that an electric truck? ;)
Looks better without. |
What in the world is all that white stuff?
|
You have to plug that thing in? How cold is it?
|
Nice looking truck with the tonneau, BTW. I had the more or less identical F-250 4x4 but in an '05 model. Same color, short bed supercab, etc...

My diesel won't hardly start, and is really choppy if it does start, anything below 20-25 F. Below freezing I plug it into a timer that kicks on 2 hours before I leave for work.

I have a canopy for my truck, but I take it off in Summer, and put it back on in our wet winters.
Kinda like getting a new truck twice a year! Nice to keep stuff dry and invisable with the cap on, nice to be able to reach over the sides and have rear visability when it is off. Tonneau covers look nice, but cut out too much cargo space to be useful for me. |

That truck looks gas to me. |
It's much easier on them and you spend less time waiting on glow plugs if you plug it in....
My gas corrado had a block heater. Warmed up up way quicker when it was plugged in. |
Hi,
OP here.. No the cable is for the trickle charger, that battery was depleted after a month or two in the cold. My truck is a 5.4l Gasoline. But here in Canada is normal that all cars have block heaters and it is pretty normal to plug them at night or while at work (if the engine isn't running). It just helps a lot if the oil is warm cause the engine turns way easier. The reason I sold the canopy is because bicycles won't fit (like 2 inches taller) so with the tonneau I just fold it forward and sky is the limit! ;) I really use the truck for camping only. |
Nice!
I have a 2012 F350 Crew cab with the long bed, 6.7L powerstroke... I have been thinking about a t-cover as well, but I know once it warms up the bed will always have stuff in it that is taller, so it isn't a huge priority. I used to plug my old 6.0L powerstroke in, and have plugged this one in once when it was below zero. Bill |
Even if it would start otherwise, diesels don't like to be cold and it's nice to get a jump on warming-up when it's very cold.

Nice. We have a hard fiberglass color matched tonneau cover on our F150 and love it. Along with a Bedrug it makes for a huge lockable trunk that I'm not afraid to get dirty.
