1936 Volkswagen Porsche Typ 60 (VW V3)

I'm sure a lot of you Porschephiles are familiar with this, but I had never seen one until just now... ran across it while searching another car... it was in Flicker.

Isnt the front end styling oh so like the Tatra of that period(I think there was talk of a lawsuit that was quashed by the Germans marching into Czechslovakia)

Volkswagen VW 30 (Porsche Typ 60) 1936-37

COOOL!
I've never seen one of these early cars. Earliest I've seen is a 1946-47 model.

Volkswagen VW 30 (Porsche Typ 60)

vw 1936 vw 30 - the history of cars - exotic cars - customs - hot rods - classic cars - vintage cars -

Link (pretty cool site) says this model was 36-37 so as type 30 was before the one above?
Curious squared off engine and truck lids?
Also the location of the semaphores in front of the door.
Love the one tail light and I'm wondering if the round disc under the front hood is the horn?
Nice seats!!!

Anyone know if there is a book that shows the progression of development of the "Peoples Car"?

So the rear window looks thru the grille louvers? That's a weird design. Cool car, thanks for posting!

Yep, thru the rear lid visibility. Must be an interesting detail from inside.
