Look at my signature...I've owned a 78mm X 90.5, 2007cc Gene Berg engine for over 20 years and I bought it because I wanted to build the best engine I could for my customers. I've had it in 4 cars now. I could easily sell the crank alone from that engine for $1500.
The heater boxes work fine if you drive it in weather not much lower than freezing, below that then you need a good gas heater.

I have many good memories of my 1970 Karmann Ghia that I had in the early 80s. Hard top, 2176cc engine (78.4mm x 94mm) with a 388 ring and pinion, and four wheel disc brakes. It was my little 911 killer.

Rather than going back, it might be time to look ahead to something modern and easier to run like a Mazda Miata or Pontiac Solstice/Satrun Sky.

I'd buy one in a New York minute if I didn't think it would instantly crumble to rust around me. Love the look of 'em.

Also they have a very good forum section and you can get any questions answered by people who know more about these cars than I do.
