Series 70 spoon with squared trigger guard- help.

Does anyone know if you can restore the original shape of this trigger guard? Heat, bend and reblue?

This spoon is stuck in the 70's and I would like to fix this... It's an original issue series 70 Commander that is otherwise pristine, sans the 70's mods.

I have no idea if it can be put back. If it was me I'd leave it alone. The whole thing seems period correct and screams Armand Swenson. -J

It's a well put together piece actually. Shoots wonderfully and the finish is about 98% no signs of wear....

Just weighing out options. Someone spent $$ on this thing :)

Personally I like the squared-off guard, but I have big hands.

I say if it works, leave it alone.

I would definitely leave it as is...

+1, seems that Mr. Swenson (or a follower or Mr Swenson) had something to do with that gun.

Leave it as it is!!!

Thanks y'all. I think I will. It's too nice to mess with...

that's a shame to do to a nice colt, but now you have to leave it alone.

C'mon, man, Swenson was a genius ahead of his time. Hell, if it weren't for him I would probably still be trying to figure out a way to flip off the safety with my trigger finger. :D
