Country Time Motor Meltdown
As I suspected, a broken crank up by the snout. Most parts look like they survived the mayhemhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1358701596.jpg

Very unusual place for a crank to break. Like one in a million
I'd use a different manufacturer's billet this time around. If it was Crower last time, pick someone else this time..... |
What a bad break, you going to be able to save the block?
Wonder what caused it to break there? Any idea of the cost for a short block? Cheers Richard |
was this an externally balanced motor?

Does a race motor like that start with a factory stock block? Or is there race prep that is done on the block?
Cheers Richard |

Looking at the balancer itself, it doesn't appear to have the 28oz counterweight so it appears to be internally balanced. The balancer itself is a ATI Super Damper, which is a mechanical ring damper. It may have failed. Consider going to a Fluidampr next time. They don't fail, and don't need to be serviced or rebuilt |
