Online in-flight airliner tracking website

You go out in your front yard and look up and notice a contrail and an airliner. Run in your house and look it up and see where it's coming from and going to and a picture of it and an in cockpit view. Zoom in- zoom out, anywhere in the world. This is just crazy....

Now that's cool -- thanks for posting, Paul!

Wow! Awesome, thanks!

It is cool. Unfortunately some owners and corporations choose to block aircraft tail numbers so there are some up there that you can't see.

URY914 01-22-2013 05:28 PM

There a few that aren't correct for some reason.

Pretty cool. I have a nephew who just took off for London from SeaTac. He's over Montana at the moment.

UPS and FedX rule the skies at night.

Fun!

This is way cool. Its gonna be real fun on the next cross country flight. I see many hours wasted on this.

Is there a decoder ring that can tell me what carrier some of the more obscure flight numbers are?

GH85Carrera 01-22-2013 07:20 PM

So the folks that think a chemtrail is real can find out what airline is making the trail. Cool.

rattlsnak 01-22-2013 07:56 PM

Kinda cool, however, the first 5 flights I looked at had wrong info!!

LeeH 01-22-2013 08:40 PM

Thanks for posting. Will be fun to see where my wife is tomorrow.

Flightaware is good too. There's an iphone app that several here at work have, you can point your phone at passing planes and it will display flight info. Amazing stuff.

That's cool but that AA flight from ORD to MIA is lost over the Pacific. If it were accurate it would be better than Flightaware. Cockpit view is very cool. Thanks for posting.

Wow ....that's soo cool.
I picked a plane that looked like it was headed towards me (from Canada) followed it with the cockpit view + the map. My town came into view on the map and sure enough i could hear a plane. I got up and looked out the window and there it was. Unreal.
Most of the ones i clicked on though have the wrong info.
This plane was listed as JFK to Miami but looks like it originated in Italy.
