Have you ever seen dolphins surfing on the bow wave of a cruise ship? Out of the port of Los Angeles, they do it on most ships leaving the port.

Yes, on trips to Catalina... on the Catalina boat it is a beautiful site... on my brothers seventeen foot runabout kinda scary... don't realize how big those things are until you get that close to them!

I have heard of them bumping into sailboats and small vessels, but have never heard of attacks on humans.

I wouldn't feel comfortable in my kayak surrounded by a pod, though...
