I like the feel of the 10/22 (carbine) but that is what I grew up practicing on. If you have used the Savage and like it, I say gopherit. It is your decision and feel is the important thing. If it feels right, that is the one for you. Otherwise you will be kicking yourself for not getting what you wanted.
