Yakima bike rack part needed.....

Anyone got an extra one or more of these around?

Prefer the locking style with a key. It's a skewer for the Yakima "blockhead" style racks that mount in a truck bed.

There is a place near me that sells used Yakima parts. I can stop in and see if they have it. Gimme a budget though.

JYL, does this shop near you sell online? Care to name it so I can check with them? The part I'm looking for is large and I'm not sure if I want it just now (depends on what my next DD ends up being) but I'd like to check them out. Thanks!

If they don't sell online, you can call, buy over the phone, have them set the parts aside, I can go pick them up and send them to you. If needed I can pay and you can pay me back. It's on my way home from work, so not a problem to get there.

They sell used Yakima and Thule racks and parts. Started in a tiny storefront in the depths of the recession, on a street where stores were going out of business right and left. A couple of scruffy guys with a pile of old rack parts. In the past 5 years they've done well, moved to a large shop, there's three or four guys working there, a steady flow of biz. A bunch of new businesses have started up on that street now, including a terrific brewpub, a good bakery, a nascent restaurant row. New apartment building across the street. Old vacant buildings have been fixed up and are being filled. I drive and now ride on that street every day. It has been nice to see the economic decline and recovery of the past 6 years, through the lens of this 5 block stretch of road.

JYL, Thanks! That's really inspiring. I checked out their site, should be able to handle it online when I'm ready to purchase. Thanks for the info!

I'd like to thank John/JYL for doing me a solid....$$ on the way and a pair of Skeletons when you decide what color.....black or red.

Thanks for the solid, dude....1/2 of what I could find on the net and the same vintage so that it matches the other one with the same key....woohoo.

jyl 02-02-2013 08:12 PM

I have no idear what skeletons we be talking about, but black goes with everything, right? Will they go with my girl shorts?
