Real Men

And what they are doing when not on the Isle of Man:

These guys are absolutely, irrefutably, certifiably insane. I actually get pretty tense just watching them. I don't know how they keep this up, race after race, year after year. Amazing the odds don't catch up with more of them. Talk about dedication. Oh, and they are not in this for the money - compared to other motorsports, there just isn't any.

I sometimes see young "pocket rocket" riders riding like that on I-5 and I-405.

I never see older experienced riders riding like that...

Brandon is getting his ducks in a row to go back to the IOM again.

Brandon Cretu Racing - Home

He was selling T shirts as a fund raiser last year and I'd guess he is doing something similar this season if you want to help a rider get to the the TT.

He also has a FAQ on going to the TT to spectate. Travel, lodging and other helpfull info.

 Hey, what about the spectators just standing along the edge of the road?

Also certifiably insane, IMO.

Man that is totally psycho!! At least at the Isle of Man they have staggered starts.
Riding in a pack like that takes it to another level of crazy!
Thanks for posting that.

Cheers Richard

Their balls are waayyyy bigger than their brains.

Makes for some great YouTube :)

I have heard that some of the riders going to run that race don't buy a round trip ticket. They don't know if they will live to use the return trip.

yikes.
thanks for posting.

Every once in a while, when I start to think I may actually be something of a badass, I'll watch that video to remind me I really am nothing of the kind.

Ahhhh, to be young and free of responsibilities. In a former life, I would have done this in a second, but these days its more about risk mitigation. I do envy them, though. Imagine how mundane normal life must feel after a weekend of doing that?

As has been said, large attachments.

Reminds me of I-270 around Columbus. Lots of hooligans there.:D

Also reminds me of a couple of those IOM montages that were posted a while ago. Some of those guys just don't have the panic switch. Tank slapper at over 150 mph would send me down brown alley!

Not necessarily a prerequisite but I bet it helps.

Big brass clackers are neccesary for that idiocy. Right at 3:00 in the video, that guy recovers from the "hospital wobbles" at about 140 MPH, that right there would have deposited a brown stain all the way up my back, but they keep going and are running peg to peg 4 or 5 feet from cobbletone walls.

Head416 01-29-2013 05:20 PM

Yeah, that save at 3 minutes was pretty impressive!

afterburn 549 01-29-2013 05:30 PM

1,-WOW ! BIG BRASS BALLS !

2,- I would not stand that close to a war zone or artillery !

3,-How come No Harleys in there ROFL

mikeesik 01-29-2013 07:02 PM

Wow.
What a Plebe I am.
I might be able to compete with these fellas on tricycle though.
No pun intended.
