I ride a bike to work, not a long distance, and do most errands on the bike, so each day I ride for about 30-40 minutes. I try to ride hard to make up for the short distances. 2-3 times a week I do a 1 hour spin (indoor cycling) class. 2 times a week I do resistance training.
I sleep about 6.5 hours a night, from about 10 pm to 4:30 am. (For the last two months I've been waking up at 3:00 am every weekday morning to check the news for a particular event, then trying to get back to sleep. I can stop doing that now, check chart for KERX). I know I need to get more sleep. When I do sleep, I think I sleep soundly. Quote:

6.5 h sleep is not enough. I was at a seminar and learned that only 5% of the population can tolerate 7h or less of sleep. I'd go to bed a little earlier. Waking up mid-way is fine, just relax or fondle the spouse. I read that a natural sleep pattern has an awake period mid way.
I have felt much better and stayed healthier (not catching a cold as often) since I force myself to go 8h and allow myself 9 on WE if possible. G |

I enjoy sleeping late in the am but don't enjoy going to bed early. I am jealous of guys that can be up in the wee hours of the morning watching the sunrise.
Hunting is a big hobby and it is always tough for me to get up in time to meet the critters. I prefer the hunts you can show up for mid day (mainly upland birds). ;) Getting a good exercise level going should really help with any blues, winter or otherwise. Sounds like you area already there on that. If you can swing it, just go for a few long weekends every winter into the nicer climates. G |
Hmmmm...some melatonin might actually work for you, jyl.
