i've never experience hydroplaning. i've hit a puddle in my chevy work truck at 55 on the highways. locals know about the lakes that form on hwy 280 during heavy rain. the splash was huge but i am pretty sure i was still in control.

It's like feeling the ass-end of your 911 coming around on you without the go-fast pedal there to save it for ya...it's just a WHOLE lot of fun...or not :D. Not the same as hitting a big ol' puddle (in a CJ5 and almost losing it)...done that too. I'd much rather be driving on ice when you know and "expect" what you're dealing with (well...except for the other idiots that is).
