i'm not even convinced pesticides are water soluble.

do you give all your fruit a proper scrub-down? apples easy..grapes, not so easy. nothing more you can do except a rinse down.

i admit, i can peel off that little ID sticker off of an apple and eat it. dumb?

I rinse off my fruit. As you said scrubbing grapes ain't gonna happen. Apples get a rinse and rub down but that is it.

Pears, peaches and the like just a rinse. I do like oranges since the peel gets tossed.

Only when my wife is watching. She thinks its necessary. I'm not convinced a water rinse is going to save me from anything dangerous, so why bother?

My wife refuses to peel mushrooms. I stopped eating mushrooms when I discovered this. I don't care whether the schit they grow them in is sterilized or not.

carrots, potatoes and beetroot all grow in the same stuff as mushrooms, except the mushrooms don't live under it. Give all of them a quick wash and it's all good.
