All Knowing Forum! The price of Tea!
So, Joanna my wife has a love for Chai Tea Lattes. What once was a once a week treat has now become a everyday morning thing. Some of you may know that Joanna is pretty much home bound due to MS. I've bought a Espresso machine and have been buying her Tea from a tea store chain in the mall and making her one every morning.
Good lose leaf Chai Tea doesn't get priced like it grows on trees! It's more than my coffee, Beer & Scotch budget a month. Anyone know of a decent place to buy lose leaf Chai at a decent price?

Beth says try a local Indian store. She also said that if the price is so totally out of whack "out left" she would be more then happy to ship it to you from here "back east"

Yes, Please check.
I bought 1 pound from our little India area in Artesia Ca it was some really bitter stuff. I used it on the lawn. Now if SHTF I do know where I will run first there's got to be 30 tonnes of rice and dried beans within 3 blocks.

Seriously? It's just tea.
The Brits know a little something about tea. Try "PG Tips" (a black tea made only from the bud and top two leaves from the bush, hence "tips"). I always have some on hand, and running out is not an option. Usually buy more when I open my penultimate box of 80 (250g, or 8.8 oz) - which I get for $5 at a warehouse store around here. CostPlus World Market carry it for $9 (used to be cheaper). Any of the Kroger (QFC, Fred Meyer) or Safeway's/Vons stores stock it, usually in the 40's. Amazon have it too, all sizes up to the 240 box. It wouldn't be very hard to snip the little bags open if you really want loose leaf. If it has to be green, you're on your own ![]()
