I am surprised to hear this line from you since you are technically trained. Really, your last post is nonsense as it completely conflates relevant with irrelevant time scales.

The climate change fearmonger's argument centers around the observed change over a very short period of time (100-ish years) being the result of human activity. But there is significant evidence that the Earth's temperature has drastically varied over the millions of years that it has existed, both warmer and cooler. We have insufficient evidence to draw any real conclusions about the long term trends of the planet and how humans are impacting it. That is what bothers me about the entire concept, you can't accurately extrapolate data when you have very little relative to the entire sample.

But lets face facts, it's not about the planet. It's about money and politics. The "green" movement, climate change, emissions testing, all are being pushed not by scientists but by individuals and businesses that profit from it.

Edit: instead of simply writing off everyone that disagrees with you as an ignorant fool, post up an opinion and support it. Calling names is a sign that you have nothing of substance to support your argument.

"The knownothingism" on this forum. Wow, you must be God, knowing everything. All I said, as have many scientist's said, is that what you saw has been going on for millions of years. Nothing new, and the rate of change has much to do with the overzelous news media of the day. They want to scare us to change something we cant change. "The rate of change", how do you know the rate was not more 2 billlion years ago, yep, you don't.

Point is...it's happening.
Very quickly . This ought to make all that can think, at least a little concerned.

You would not have wanted to have an extensive civilisation all set up for a particular temperature regime and then have it change out from under you in prehistoric times.

esp., as per above, if it changes really, really fast

Wasn't it hotter in the middle ages than it is now but it was a mini ice age like 300 years ago?

It correlates to piracy, the more piracy, the warmer the temps. In this digital age, with digital piracy raising the level to new highs with piracy becoming more and more common in average households, expect very hot temperatures in the future.

For me it's as simple as I don't want crap in the air I breather, water I drink or in the soil my food grows. Unfortunately that battle was lost decades ago.
