Compact Low Temp Cooling Unit Sources
 

I am looking for a compact low temp cooling unit runs on 120 V AC current.
condenser and compressor and copper coil.

It will super cool 5-10 gallons of running water like a water wine chiller.

New or used this is the unit that need to be replaced.

Who carries this sort of thing my interweb search only shows me large units.

I'm guessing it came out of an old freezer. Any help would be great.

how cold do you need to go?

Below 32F. a pump keeps the water moving to prevent freezing. Super cooled running water swirling to cool parts.

Water wine cooler is the best example I can find, same temps.

The existing unit can't be repaired? Have a HVAC guy replace the compressor and recharge.

I need to replace this one and build a new one. Maybe a few if it works as well as this one did for quite a while.

Could I pull one out of an old freezer ?

Yes and yes.

To build a new one you would need to source the parts, insulated water tank with cooling lines wrapped around the tank (not hard to build), water pump 110v, compressor with controls. How pretty does it need to be?

I pulled a old icecream freezer (1960's) vintage out of a place last summer. It was basicly the same thing as you have except in a chrome case. I kept the water pump and motor.

I do allot of aluminum TIG welding I can fabricate the alum, Thats the easy part
I'll put it in a shiny aluminum package.

I am not up to speed on the refrigeration system, I can figure it out if who ever can supply the compressor, condenser and coil can give me some guide lines.

The water pump is pretty straight forward.

With the refrigeration system you will need a compressor, cooling lines, temp sensor, controls and a cooling grid. Basicly a whole fridge just smaller.

The icecream unit had several chambers. The cooling unit was only on one of the chambers. The other two used the water and water pump to cool those along with a dipping pot for the icecream scoops. The whole thing was insulated with 3" to 4" of cork.

Any old time refrigeration guy should be able to build what you need.

You might look up industrial surplus or used equipment stores and see if they have any "process chillers".

Kind of tricky to match a condensing unit to an evaporator of an unknown capacity. The system may not balance well.
Look online at a refrigeration wholesaler and check out the capacity of the compressors and condensing units.
If you can figure the load out and the temperature that you wish to operate I could probably help with a condensing unit selection.
